Bainbridge (I believe this name is or was the name of one of the first USN nuclear powered cruisers)

Also the name of the USN's very first destroyer, DD-1, commissioned in 1902.

There was also a Clemson class DD named Bainbridge, DD-246, commissioned in 1921. She spent WW2 in the Atlantic and Caribbean theaters.

What extended map pack do I install for BTS. I lost it all a while back and I'm now tring to get back into it. Also was thinking the Dutch would of liked to of had a CAV probably more than the Aussies and Kiwis.

I was looking around and didn't find the 3 big Aussie CD units? I believe they are the 5th, 6th and the 7th CD regiments.

Hey guys (John in particular) - do you mind if I use some BTS/RA assets for a project I'm working on? I'm particularly interested in the new IJNAF aircraft. I'd credit the mod, John, and whoever else was involved, obviously.

(I tried to PM John but his inbox is full!) Thanks to all for your work!

Sorry guys. My Mother staged a surprise visit over the last four days and I have been unable to do much or read the threads. Apologies...

Responses:
1. LOVE the additional DD Names. Will use those once Juan gets his changes to me.
2. French CL withdrawal issue: I think you are stuck with it unless you start a new game. Got that 'sinking' feeling that it does change unless a game is started over. Very disappointing and I am sorry about that.

Alikchi:
You are more then welcome to use our hard work. Any chance I can help another fellow modder have an easier time is something I will JUMP AT! Footnotes as to where the source material came from is greatly appreciated by the RA/TM/BTS Team!

Juan wrote me and said that he has a ways to go regarding the off-map modifications. QUESTION: Do you guys want me to make the changes in names (making for a double update) and all that or wait for Juan to get his work done and do the next updates as a single one? Am open either way...

Just a small suggestion. People don't like playing scenarios with daily/weekly updates. I understand it is a WIP, but I really think you should post a Scen, and have all the other stuff done in background. Only post an update if it has substantive data changes that might require a restart.

Just thinking. Just tell me to go to hell. I'm non denominational. Ciao. JWE

Thanks for the laugh John. I think that we'll wait until Juan has got his Mark Two version complete then I shall finish the naming stuff and we'll simply take care of it in a single pass.

Found another anomaly in a TOE.

The British 2nd Division shows 494/496 under TOE percentages.

A look at the TOE shows why. It has the TOE of some kind of base force with no troops and 12 AV.

I think my game is 1.8.

I'm going to take a guess and say TOE ID should be #2840 (Brit 41 ME Div) instead of #2841 (Jun-43 Base Force).

Juan just wrote me earlier with thoughts regarding his improvement of the off-map purchases. Am sure it will be Posted here for commentary.

Hans--will look at and FIX the TO&E issue with next release. Some of these issues must be coming from all of JWE's hard work importing all of RA into the newest DaBabes database. He had a monumental job and I am thankful for him getting that done. It has, however, led to a few issues. Nothing horrific but still nagging things...

Hey Juan, just sent you my turn....GP

The version number or the TOE for the British division? I don't think version number (or rather, scenario name) changes even if you update mid-game. As for the TOE ID, I don't think I've seen that particular one before, and as I got those numbers from the editor using the version we are playing, its probably not working in our game either. I can either patch it now for our game or we can wait until the next larger release.

As for the plane changes, this was the proposal list I sent to John, based on feedback here and in the AAP thread a little while ago. I think overall the costs are in a good place, as PPs are fairly scarce, especially in 1942. These changes will basically make a few of the units a little more expensive, and a little slower to arrive, taking the edge off in early '42 which I think was a worry. The only major '43 unit I touched was the F6F-3 one that arrived on the same month production started, now it arrives the month afterwards.

(USN) 20 plane ADD F4F-4 unit (cost 180) moved from 2/42 to 3/42
(USN) 20 plane ADD F4F-4 unit (cost 160) moved from 3/42 to 4/42
(USN) 20 plane PRT F4U-1 unit (cost 240) plane count from 20 to 16, cost from 240 to 220
(USN) 20 plane ADD F6F-3 unit (cost 200) moved from 4/43 to 5/43
Note: Bumping the F4F-4s back to coincide with on-map production start, making the F4U 'early' unit a little more expensive per plane, bumping back F6F-3 first additional unit to slow introduction a little

(USAAF) 16 plane ADD P-38E unit (cost 160) changed to DIV, moved from 5/42 to 6/42
(USAAF) 20 plane PRT P-38F unit (cost 240) moved from 6/42 to 7/42
(USAAF) 16 plane ADD P-38E unit (cost 140) changed to P-38F, chaned to DIV, moved from 7/42 to 9/42, plane count from 16 to 20, cost from 140 to 200
Note: First P-38E unit become a Divert and is moved back, early P-38F also delayed. Second P-38E group changed to P-38F and moved to september, made larger but also more expensive per plane

(British) 16 plane ADD Hurricane IIb unit (cost 130) moved from 5/42 to 7/42, cost from 130 to 120
Note: Bumping 3rd Hurricane II unit back by a month, to split the group arrivals into Mar/Apr, Jun/Jul

Still checking a few of the other groups, but if anyone have any that seem like they need a look at please let me know. Will try to get these implemented and back to John tommorow or Wednesday at the latest so he can move on with the rest of the patch.

Juan,
For our PBEM, I think we should wait for the Big patch from John. The dates, costs and numbers of units seem to fit better, IMO....GP

Change List:

Juan changes the Off-map Allied Planes as described above.

Japan
1. Reintroduce Coastal Command HQ in Osaka. This unit was in early RA and it has since gotten 'lost.' It appears in mid-42 and is a Restricted Command HQ.
2. Move Paratroopers to 'original' starting positions prior to DaBabes corrections.
3. Remove any duplicated SNLF units that are present on Dec 7th when they are already accounted for in Brigade form. (See point 2 above)
4. Consolidate 55th ID into parent ID. It will not spread all about. It will begin intact with the Imperial Guards. Same reasoning as above.

Submarines
I am interested in playing with the SS SOME but not a lot. Here is my thought:

The 'cruiser' submarine is not rejected immediately. Navies see them as an 'experiment' and pursue them for another year or two. This change is allowed for at London and a slight adjustment in tonnage is allowed. Several of these additional SS survive to begin the war in 1941. Result:
USA: Gains an additional pair of Argonauts.
JPN: Adds three more ML SS (three due to tonnage difference under the Argonauts).
FR: Add another Surcouf to the Pacific side.

Naming Issues:
Could someone find out EXACTLY which ships are double named. I need ID number so the names can be changed quickly without having to search and search and then STILL miss one or two.

Have I missed anything? Anything to say about the above points?

Time to talk UPDATE. Juan just sent me his revised changes to the Allied off-map aircraft purchase system. I'll start work on the Mods and get them straight. Figure Sat or Sun release.

Had some time this morning and got the easiest of the three Mods updated. Treaty Mod (045) is now version 2.0. It is Posted on the website.

I hope to get to RA tonight and then tackle BTS tomorrow.

Change Log: Treaty 2.0
1. CV Princeton II is now South Mountain.
2. USS Manatee (Argonaut) and Dungeness (Narwhal) added to US SS. Start in Pearl Harbor.
3. I-125, 126, 127 (Japanese ML) added to Fleet and placed at Hiroshima.
4. Only one USS Paulding here so this did not need changing.
5. Japanese Carrier double-naming.
6. Raised Japanese Type 88 Mine Production some to reflect having more boats at war's start.

Pretty simple changes.

Ouch. RA took a bit more time then Treaty to do changes and fixes!

Change List:
1. Deleted 4 SNLF China units that were accidentally left in the OOB when JWE imported all the unit to his newest DaBabes standard. Moved over 4 IJA Garrison units to replace the SNLF units.
2. Placed all of 55th ID with Imperial Guards.
3. Karafuto Bge placed under Northern Area Command.
4. Added Coastal Command arriving at Osaka in June 42.
5. Army Paras moved to Hanoi.
6. Brit 2nd ID TOE fixed.
7. Added a CLAA Omaha upgrade in late-43.
8. Checked and corrected naming issues with wessels.

Think that is all.

Will move to Between the Storms tonight.

OK. These updates were darned near exponential in work done! BTS 2.1 is ready for work. The vast majority of the changes pertain to the opening of the war but there are others contained within the update for later in the war.

Change List:
1. CV Princeton II is now South Mountain.
2. USS Manatee (Argonaut) and Dungeness (Narwhal) added to US SS. Start in Pearl Harbor.
3. I-125, 126, 127 (Japanese ML) added to Fleet and placed in their own TF to raise HELL on the 7th..
4. USS Paulding naming fixed.
5. Japanese Carrier double-naming.
6. Raised Japanese Type 88 Mine Production some to reflect having more boats at war's start.
7. Deleted 4 SNLF China units that were accidentally left in the OOB when JWE imported all the unit to his newest DaBabes standard. Moved over 4 IJA Garrison units to replace the SNLF units.
8. Placed all of 55th ID with Imperial Guards.
9. Karafuto Bge placed under Northern Area Command.
10. Added Coastal Command arriving at Osaka in June 42.
11. Army Paras moved to Hanoi.
12. Brit 2nd ID TOE fixed.
13. Added a CLAA Omaha upgrade in late-43.
14. Checked and corrected naming issues with wessels.
15. Added 6th Ind Brigade to Pacific duty (replacing the 55th ID Regiment).
16. Made sure the LIZ upgrades to the RITA without issue.
17. Added French Bouvier (Surcouf-Class SS) by popular demand!
18. Added Juan's 2.0 aircraft off-map purchase system.

OK Boys...that is it. If you have been waiting then GO FOR IT! If you have a game in progress then do your update and enjoy...

Which nationality? My guess would be that is in a limited pilot pool like the Dutch/Chinese. Is it?

Some of the minor force pilot pools are pretty limited. I believe the Dutch run out completely in mid-42. The Chinese are very limited too. You have to wait a few months for the pool to fill back up again.

The training pools for the major forces are large enough it is tough to run out of pilots in the entire training system, but you may draw some low EXP pilots as you draw deeper into the system.
