Tried to us 3xBb, but could not get the scenario to show up in the list of available scenarios. Must be doing something wrong.

I hope Matrix gets the hint and releases the "new" version soon.

No, you weren't doing anything wrong. I tried to load it in the 3.4.0.202 and the 3xBb just now and neither one of them showed
the scenario. I guess it's for 3.6 or above. And if Matrix doesn't release something pretty soon then one of the beta testers
might just start giving it away covertly.

Here's Mindano now. Jap troops landed in Davao yesterday so I guess Tom is planning on clearing the island of partisans or
something. It won't take long.

I've had good luck getting units from OZ to India and thence to Burma and China. The front lines are starting to firm up a bit.
Jap troops are streaming south from north China so that wraps up the north China adventure. Tom is bent on more pushing
and shoving and fighting is still pretty hot.

I've noticed that there's only two Soviet formations still in Reserve status and the rest of them are ready for orders. I can move them
and attack with them. I have no idea what caused it. My theory is that one of your ships drove past one of the Soviet units on some
isolated island somewhere on the way to Alaska and woke it up from it's garrison mode or something.

Sounds like there needs to be an exclusion zone set up to avoid activating Russian units by mistake.

Oh and by the way....thanks for this AAR and all the others you make.

Thomas has come to the rescue. He sent me via email an older version of Pacific At War and it's compatable with 3xBb.exe and
3.4.0.202. I've attached it to this post. Just truncate off the dot txt to make it a zip file and unzip it. Includes the equipment file.

You're welcome my friend. These AAR's are the book I sat down to write and got writers block. I'm unleashed when I do these AAR's
and can put all kinds of irrelavent data in there. Stories from my background. Pictures from Wikipedia. Just about anything. HTML
just might become the document of the future.

Here's the results of another naval bombardment of the airfield.

Here's a T47 look at the front lines in China now. It's stable and quiet. Not enough supply to conduct a war.

I have had to go on to the defensive for the moment due to the loss of the CV Kaga and Akagi, the two best carriers in the IJN. I also do not have any spare troops to continue landing on the allied defended islands. Also, the allied air power is getting so strong it gets through my CAP to hit the ships.

I may try to take some more objectives later when I get more troops. If the carriers stay back further they might be able to cover the landing and not be hit from multiple islands. I was overconfident and just sailed in to the nest of the allied airfields and paid for it.

I also failed to take Rangoon which fell in the historical war. The only trade off is a few more islands taken. That is not a good trade.

Australia is an armed camp as is most of Asia for the allies. The only thing holding back the allies is the heavy losses taken in their navy. All that will be replaced in due course so there will be even larger more desperate battles to come.

Here's a T49 look at some of the front lines in China. Not much probing, pushing or shoving going on. The supply level procludes
a lot of that. Another problem is that the units are stronger in defense than offense and losses are heavy for any such attacks
attempted. It's like a Mexican standoff. I'm going to have to start a bombing campaign to soften up the opposition and THEN maybe
try some attacks. But that would call for more AS than I have at hand right now. I'll let the situation develop some and see what
happens.

Here's a T49 strategic overview. I'm thinking it'd be best for me to try to take back one of the islands that are least defended. Say
Phoenix island. And then spread out from there. Also, I need to grab Wake sometime in the future.

captured New Caledonia right out from under my nose.

I've sailed quite a few American land combat units to China now and I'm thinking it's just about time to start to try to push back.
I've got some attacks scheduled to go off and I've got my fingers crossed.

Here's a close-up of New Caledonia. There's no hope of taking it back with the assets still on the island. I've got to evacuate the
planes yet. I haven't moved anything yet to give you the "before" view. There's nothing to do here except dig in, go to three-dots,
and evacuate the planes.

I almost HAD to use the 1st Marine Division to oppose all that Japanese armour in the southern front lines. The 1st has a great
anti-armour rating and it's proficiency is outstanding, 90%. All that plus it was the only unit available at the time.

I moved a division, the 24th division, to Auckland New Zealand just in case there's some more expansion plans in the works.

I made the mistake of flying my SBD's further than the range of their escorts or something.....I lost them all and the Japs lost a
couple.

Here's a close-up of Noumea now. The Japs have moved in all kinds of aircraft and some land troops. It's a fortress now.

New moves from Thomas. He invaded and captured Colombo. Well, all of Ceylon actually. The entire island. Using paratroops and
some land combat troops he systematically disassembled my defense and defeated my dudes. He's already flown bou cou aircraft
and it's a small fortress now.

So here's what it looks like now. The Japs own the Aleutian islands and some off the bottom edge of the map as well. I can no longer
sail land combat troops from Oz to India with impunity and I'm outnumbered in ships so I'm going to have to wait until I get more
ships to strike back. And the mainland will have to fend for itself.

I'm on the lookout for a way to strike back effectively and I'm wondering about the Celebes. I'd like to take back the Phillippines
ASAP and I'm thinking I can leapfrog through the bases and airfields of the Celebes going north. I'm going to have to do some
recon of Makassar to see what's there because I'm pretty sure it's going to take a division at the very least to invade and capture
the base there.

Hey you guys.....I have some good news. I got to looking at the expected reinforcements display again and it looks like there's another
three or four DD's coming in T60. It used to be a carrier but the CV's were destroyed so now it's only DD's. And then there's an
actual CV carrier in T61 with a lot of new planes and everything.

I thought I'd turn on the PO buttons and view the objective tracks and some of them look severely complicated.

IMHO you should start with trying to retake some of the islands between the US and Australia.

I think (?) that will make sending reinforcements (ships, planes, men) to Oz much safer.

And, being as those islands are on the far periphery of the Empire, they may be less easy for the Japanese player to defend.

Sounds good to me Chattez dude. I'll do it. I'm thinking somewhere like Phoenix island.

I thought that the Allies lost the contest above but Thomas tells me that the Allied production rate will make up these losses in no
time and that I shouldn't worry so much about MY losses but I should concentrate on causing Jap losses. Sounds like a good idea.
Here's the amount on hand and the production rate of several of the fighters I'm using. I've got to do a save game and boot up a
new game of this scenario and from the Jap side of things I should check out the production rate of some of the Jap planes to do
a compare-ison.
