Nice video. Did double check and looks like we've covered the aircraft and loadouts in the db.

Sounds great.
Are the high drag Matra bombs listed as part of the Argentine A-4s loadouts?

Interesting, didn't know they had BL-755 and Napalm in their inventory...on F-104s too!

yeah, we did put everything on them. even nukes... That and the "we don't need training" attitude did kill a lot of pilots.

Gotta love those formation strikes! Would make an easier target for AA though.

Modern Luftwaffe has maybe about 4 planes that are actually allowed to fly.

Weird article. The tornado is not used to replace the eurofighter. The QRA is eurofighter only since the phantom was decommissioned in 2013. The tornado is classified as fighter-bomber and does train to intercept enemy planes but it is not its main role.
The real problem of the Luftwaffe are the A400M and the NH90 but the eurofighters are more or less ready. I can hear some of them now.

The NH90 has a problem with the maintenance software currently because after an update all data is mixed up and nobody knows which helicopter has received maintenance... So all of them are grounded but the ministry has ordered to use "other means of transportation" whenever possible a while ago anyway.

im sorry that is not entirely correct - german luftwaffe training was not the issue - the f-104g starfighter was a "widow maker" - the german government purchased this obsolete 2-Mach-Rocket - 916 of them (30 F-104F, 137 TF-104G, und 749 RF/F-104G) - 292 went down - 116 pilots dead (108 germen and 8 american pilots).

the F-104 was reworked to convert it from a fair-weather fighter into an all-weather ground-attack, reconnaissance, and interceptor aircraft, as the F-104G. instead of using it as an high-speed, high-altitude fighter/interceptor the german Luftwaffe used the F-104G as fighter-bomber, recon, close air support, nuclear bomber. flying at high speed and low level over hilly terrain, a great many accidents were attributed to controlled flight into terrain or water.

there are also allegation of bribes:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_bribery_scandals

if germany had waited some years they would have aquired the F-4. but they didnot. in the end dirty politicians cost pilots their life...

the recent german military hardware has many issues - starting with the heckler&koch g-36 assault rifle to design failures of NH90, Tiger and A400M - in essence timetables and goals were not met by the german and european weapons industry - also the german military was unerfunded for many years and the operation costs of the eurofighters are way too high

A rule of thumb for military spending is that 30 percent should go to upkeep, he said, but Germany only spends 16 percent.

Some former Starfighter pilots wouldn't quite agree with that, inadequate training was the major issue, though not the only one.
Günther Jostens´s biography gives some interesting insights into the problems.

That very same Starfighter worked much better for better equipped and trained Dutch pilots, german pilots on exchange with the dutch air force could see that for themselves.
