Hi! This is my parsonal recoloring fo the german planes. Every plane have an unique painting scheme. This painting schemes, most of them, are based in real planes after my personal research . The CVP planes are more hipotheticals based in common LW colors. In some cases, details are not so good becouse the size of the pictures. To install the mod simply copy the files in bitmaps. I hope you enjoy.

THIS IS A PICTURE OF THE PLANES:

And the files, first the original files if you play an unmodded version.

I just wonder where the icons / graphics for planes are fished from and if one wants to change / alter them - where to work.
At times I caress the idea of switching some planes (mainly the old ones which could be used in DOD but in ANY WiF game they're regularly scrapped at the start of the war - such as these horrific 1-2 Air to Air Factor fighters).

Can you address me where one has to tamper?

They bitmaps are quickly found if you search some of the subdirectories. I am currently not behind my PC, but look around and open them in paint.

Cohen, the picture files are in the unit bitmaps but the game factors are in the excel file of air units in data box.You cans see how find them in the manuals. If you wanna change them you must be careful to avoid create bugs. By other side, I have got another mod project " Luftwaffe what if planes" but I don´t know when I will finish it, it´s a lot of work. In this project, the most scrappable german plane units are changed for alternative real models, prototypes and proyects. This mod, evidently, will change the balance of the game favouring the axis side.

Hasta luego!

An example of the air units. I actually redid all units (land, air and sea). Done with PSP10 from scratch.

These look nice. However, the bitmaps for the air and naval units in MWIF just contain the image of the airplane. All the rest of the unit depiction is generated on the fly by the program, based on the data files. For example, the names and numbers are taken from the CSV files in the unit data folder.

So, if these were to be used in MWIF, all the elements except the airplane image would have to be removed. Sorry.

You mean like this. Yeah, been working on this for the last 2 days. Gonna doo all air and sea units (sea units pics will be "to scale" with one another).

Actually, I like the ships the way they are in this game. Air units, though, will be my primary goal.

Yes.

You have to be careful with the placement of the bitmap image within the frame. The names of the air units appear in different places depending on whether the air units has two names or only one. The unit type also makes a big difference. And there are all the odd bits like extended range, para capabilities, death heads, etc.

I took me over a month (when I was working 60 hours a week on this) to tweak all the images (left, right, up, down) I got from the person who scanned in the bitmaps from the ADG counter sheets, so that the numbers would not cover any of the image (or as little as possible in some cases). You will be working at maximum resolution. Be aware that at lower resolutions, the text may not fit as well as it does at zoom level 8.

Just have to comment -
As an old guy who is not good with computers I am in awe of the work you "youngsters" do to add flair to this already incredible game!
Plus, Viktor, no need to apologize for your English! You do fine and so much better than my German or French that it isn't funny!
Thanks to all the creative folks out there!
