Pelton is baned for a week, but I will relay a message for him. ( Close on line fiend from our Shadowbane days to date, but not a board warrior like him)

smokendave lost everything he believes.

smokendave is more then welcome to post as is anyone on all of Peltons AAR threads.

Dave tells me he lost less than the 89 arms that Pelton reported. I'm not at liberty to divulge the # Dave indicated, but it sounds like he is going to be not as bad off as was anticipated.

Hi,

We just finished the blizzard-nothing to report really.

Lines from about 15 hexes south of OKA north held. Only real push was Kursk area.

I was able to keep 9 Infantry divisions and 9 panzer divisions in citys.

arm numbers might be off some.

I believe all HI was lost in over run citys.

I report during mud how snow turns went.

Moscow is at the front basicly 4th PA pushing a little closer during snow, then they assault it in summer.

To the south of Oka setting up standard flank defences and generally farming morale.

Got the 3 standard panzer ball options come summer.

1. Flank Moscow.

2. try a pocket between Oka and my toe hold over major river at Voronezh, which I expanded this turn.

3. Try a pocket from Voronezh south.

4. go for oil fields.

or the good old packman option then do all the above.

I know you're busy with WITW, but will ask some dumb questions as you wrestle with the smoker.

Do you use the production screen only to follow Armament points ??? To me the rest are only pretty numbers (esp. the captured equipment.)

I trust those following this game can see what you get when agreeing as the Soviet player to this.

1941 GC Sudden Death or Alt VC260

Mild Blizzard Rules
Non Random Weather
No 1-1 = 2-1

Dave is not a bad player, but he's helpless under these one-sided conditions given Pelton's abilities.

Pelton, I think I noticed a slight change to your modus operandi as you slog thru layers of Soviet forts. Do you attach a Pz div in Reserve Mod to 3 infantry in your powerhouse corps to maximize their attack value and minimize attack penalties ???

Depends on the context. If I am playing against Pelton and he wants no 1:1-2:1, fine. Non Random weather, fine. That's now two pluses for the Axis side. So against that I would want normal blizzard and regular victory conditions to level the field.

The presence of no 1:1-2:1 combined with mild blizzard means neither side suffers significant casualties in the summer-fall and the Axis can fight to retain the most important territory gains of winter in the Moscow area. That means come summer, it's simple cleanup for the Axis to get to 260VP just as we see here. It so happens that I am playing Dave under the conditions I mention and the battle lines are quite similar to where they were historically with Leningrad being lost the exception.

What is sudden death or 260?

Mild Blizzard sure is helping Axis.

Michel.

I have to say Smokin' is paying the price for agreeing to house rules that were each pro-German. IMHO house rules should be used to correct gamey abuse of rules, and broadly neutral or designed to aid the weaker/less experienced player.

Same for trash talk which is why I would always allow Hitman 2 more adverbs and 1 extra gerund per post: safe in the knowledge that he doesn't know what they are.

Turn 55 GHC Armaments: 224,000 Manpower in Pool: 275,000 VP:238

Manpower Pts over run during 1942 = 100

A few small pockets each turn so far mostly in the center. Dave is doing a good job at holding Moscow. I don't think I will be able to take it until rivers freeze so I will just keep doing the packman thing for now.
