Last month of invasion bonus

Key: TT = Torpedo; bb = ground bombardment; c = casualties; b = base hits; s = supply hits; r = runway hits; p = port hits; f = fuel hits; AV = Assault Value; DC = Depth Charged; (*) = destroyed aircraft; If odds are bold, they are the Allies; BG = Bomber Group of 48 planes (4 x 12 bomber squadrons); FG fighter group = 25 fighter planes if American

Philippines:
Manila - 42 Nates with over 40 Lily/Sally
Cagayan - 11 Kate both days (closing AF slowly)
Cebu - 19 Sally on 3rd

Borneo:

Sumatra:
Oosthaven - 5 Vals sink my small xAP (somebody forgot LRCAP!!)
Lahat - empty base falls on 2nd

Java:
Batavia -

SRA:
Koepang -

New Guinea/Solomons:
Gasmata - empty base falls (New Britain bases all in enemy hands)

Central Pacific:

South Pacific:

North Pacific:

Australia:
Horn Island - 2Z followed by 21 Betty and then another 13Z

Engineers:

Notes/Plans:
Australia -
American BF to rail over to Perth from Brisbane.
2 x P-40Es sent to Perth (arrive in 3 days) that will repair and plan to be sent to Java.
2x EABs ordered from Melbourne to Perth.
Overall, I'm getting ready to move more assets to western Australia that include troops retreating from Darwin.

Logistics -
At San Fran -
TF for Christmas with Cmbt Eng, 2x fighter, 2x SBD, and PBY loading.
TF for Pago Pago with 2x AA, MAG (72 Aviation Support), 3rd BG, 8th PG (75 P-39s), and FA
TF for Pearl with fast AK and xAPs (16 knots or better) to load supplies once others leave. They will drop off supplies and load 4 MAG HQ and 5 BFs for Australia.

B-17s - the "D" models from Philippines are at Delhi training. The "F" are at Pearl. 9 groups with 8 planes each = 72.

ABDA fighters - the 5x P-40Es withdraw by 15th in Australia. So over 120 "E" models with some partially trained pilots will come into pool.

BTS/RA - both these mods give each side dedicated training air groups. I should be ready to harvest sometime this month.

I think a British officer in charge of setting up the withdrawl from Oosthaven to Batavia felt tea time (4pm) was more important than sending a message asking for LRCAP. Americans know how important tradition is to some Englishmen.

Since I co-developed it with John 3rd, not bad to date. I think the Allies are a little stronger with those two nasty BCs and the hybrid CAVs and CVLs it makes it easier for the Allies to be more aggressive during the expansion phase. The Japanese are stronger at sea to counter and get more CVs in late '42 and 43 to help them stay competitive. Even though there wasn't a CV vs CV clash off Java, I did force Cribtop to maximize KBs strength by having him put everybody together in one hex. I'm already planning for my first series of counter attacks.

You came very, very close!

It seems to me it makes for a much more interesting 1941, early 42. I wish I could play one...but even WITP AE has its limits.

India/Burma Frontier:

Since it's that time of year for my sinus congestion to work overtime, I was laying awake this morning (1 to 2am) unable to breathe and thinking about the end of the invasion bonus. What to do while trying to fall back asleep?? Start mental preparations for your AE PBEM game of course. Since intel hasn't picked up any troops prepping for India or Ceylon and mega-KB probably approaching Babeldoab to refuel, I have set in motion my first efforts to retake Burma. For right now, the beginning is called the "3 Cs" - Comilla, Chittagong, and Cox's Bazar.

Comilla - F3; AF2 (17%) with 84 Brigade (needs 268 PP)
Chittagong - F3 (71%) & AF2 with 17th Ind Div (needs 42 squads)
Cox's Bazar - F3; AF0 (43%)

This last turn has support troops (construction, BFs, FA, AA, and CD) that were at bases in preparation for a possible invasion headed for these three bases with a few prepping for Akyab. Yes, Akyab is the first base on the agenda. As far as I know, only the Imp Gds and 55th Div are present in Burma. It will take over a month to get them there and have the bases expanded. Also, some of the BFs are due for expansion on May 1st, so invasion may take some time. Add in the need to fill out many divisions with 42 infantry squads. Here is what I have now with some in need of 42 squads upgrades and/or PP being spent.

Imphal - 1st Burma Div & BFF Bde
Diamond Harbour - 75 Bde (need 277 PP)
Calcutta - 7 Aus Div (prepping for Akyab) & 36 Bde/14 Div (need 387 PP & 42 squads)
Warangel - 45 Bde (flank protection)
Hyderabad - 23 Bde/14 Div (need 373 PP & 42 squads)
Bangalore - 20 Div (needs 1143 PP & fill out) moving to Cox's Bazar
Madras - 26 Div (needs 1057 PP); 19 Div (needs 1040 PP & 42 squads); 23 Div (1159 PP & 42 squads)
Bombay - 7 Div (needs 1146 PP)
Karachi - 70 Brit Div (moving to Colombo to replace 7th Aus Div) & 44 Bde (garrison)

Cape Town - 41/B loading for Bombay; 41/C (needs PP), and 41/A one day out from Bombay. Transports headed for Perth to pick up 18 Brit Div for India.

Akyab - 41st American Div and 7 Au Div prepping for
Ramsee Island - 18 Brit Div & 26 Ind Div prepping for

Not much, but its a beginning.

I find it very peculiar that the Red Chinese Army seems to have consisted entirely of non-combat units. I seem to recall that the communist troops were generally better trained than the KMT units. (thanks to Soviet advisers.)

He doesn't have to be in a hurry to take the Borneo oil if you are not hauling it out of there.
Do you have enough engineers to destroy the facilities when he does take the bases?
Once he has the bases you can bet he will send beaucoup ships to get the accumulated oil. Good place to have subs lurking, preferably Dutch or old S-boat subs.

Borneo - I didn't bring more engineers in than started in this area. I think he is not being overly aggressive at Tarakan (BB TF) to highly disrupt the troops. Off Balikpapan there are numerous subs and many are down at Perth getting 4/42 upgrades (radar) and WILL be headed back asap.
