Hello all. I have been enjoying the game and hating the game at the same time. The game is adicting and even when I get beat, I keep coming back.
Ok, what I need some help on is how to use artillery. I'm playing the German side right now and have a map that has Russian mortars. They are able to target me without LOS, however, I can not get my mortar guys to target anything that isn't right infront of them.
What can I do to make using artillery useful? Can I spot with another unit? Is there some option/button I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

Leaders and scouts can call on-board artillery even if the on-board artillery does not have LOS to the target.

Select a leader and then select "Fire for Effect." It will then ask you to target a hex. The hex must be in the leader's LOS, but does not have to be in the mortar LOS. If you have more than one on-board artillery unit it will then ask you which to fire.

If you are getting hammered by on-board artillery take out the leader that is calling the fire.

Mortars also have a minimum range.

Motars almost never see who they are firing at. Leaders call it in. Good realism here Don't bunch up if the enemy has mortars, just like reality. TheMarine Corps loves mortars.

To err is human. To forgive is divine. Neither is Marine Corps policy.
