Status: offline 		What wargame did you play at some point in the past and really wish would be redone?

For me, W.R. Hutsell's games were key, especially VGA Civil War Strategy.

I also think of Sid Meier's Gettysburg and Civil War Generals 2.

Check out Ultimate General Gettysburg. It is very similar to Sid Meier's Gettysburg and is very good.

Status: offline 		Squad Leader for the PC, All American Heritage games of the 60's. Broadsides, Dogfight and Battle Cry as well. Then one more or two. War of the Lance and Centurion Defender of Rome.

That level of variety, scale, dynamic campaigns, etc all with a nice modern UI and slightly less pixely graphics would be fantastic. The gameplay could be more or less the same, just give me something prettier to look at and throw in a few quality of life features.

Status: offline 		Lots of great games are listed in this thread, some of which I hadn't thought about for years. Action Stations!? A very in-depth naval game.

Clash of Steel was updated to Strategic Command: European Theater by Battlefront in 2002, but that's been thirteen years. I enjoyed playing both versions.

I would like to see all the games listed thus far updated with particular emphasis on Steel Panthers, Age of Rifles, Squad Leader and Third Reich.

But we're still missing a lot of other games by SSI, SSG, MicroProse, and many other developers / publishers that are deserving to be updated.

Status: offline 		1. Action Stations!, though Navies at War is pretty much the same thing, it needs a modern GUI.

2. The Operational Art of War 1-2-3: Fix it up and I won't NEED any other wargames.

Keep It Simple Stupid; provide some nice graphics and challenging computer opponent, but keep it playable and FUN.

Yes indeed. Can't remember whether it was Erik or Gary G who made the promise, anyways someone made a promise some time ago somewhere ...
Blimey Steel Panthers brought me here all those years ago. Seriously loved that game, that nailbiting sound when a shell ricocheted off my tank /phew close call. Ah the memories.
