Ladies and those few gentlemen, I'm having surgery 7 Mar 03 (Friday) to remove a troublesome Gall Bladder and possibly an appendix, I will be out of action for a short time, so please keep an eye on those newbies looking for help and offer what ever assistance you can provide. I will try to check in periodically but sitting up will be a little troublesome. Take care of yourselves and I'll catch you on the flip side. Signing off for now.:( :( :(

Gmenfan:
Having gone through the procedure in August and if they use the five small hole method you'll be out in one day and possibly the same day as my lady was. I was unfortunate the docs found gangerine and had to open me up the old fashioned way. Hey, but I was out 2 days after the operation and here that night.

May you be well and heal quick, we'll keep a light on in the forum.

:) :) :) :) :) :D :D :D

Hope all goes smooth...I've had several people tell me their 'same day' gall bladder procedures were no worse than some dental visits. :D

take it easy

Thank you all for the kind words. I only had the Gall Bladder removed. It was in terrible condition according to the Doc as the appendix looked fine with no sign of infection or inflamation. Only 4 small incsissions, I returned home 6 hours after showing up at the hosp. I was totally out of it Friday, Sat. I was so sick I couldn't leave the bed. Today I am very sore, with a little wozziness and nausia, but I'm forcing myself to get up and about a little. Things are improving so I hope to be almost at full speed in another day or so. Talk to you guys soon. Mike;) :D :)

I'm glad to hear all went well Mike! Sorry I missed the thread before you went in, but it's good to have you back. I just hope this all has nothing to do with the menu for the lunch Jess owes me.... :p

Also, oddly enough, this just appeared in my e-mail today and is semi-related:

Ponder these facts!

Think about this:

a. The number of physicians in the US is 700,000.

b. Accidental deaths caused by Physicians per year
is 120,000.

c. Accidental deaths per physician is 0.171. (US
Dept. of Health & Human Services)

Then think about this:

a. The number of gun owners in the US is
80,000,000.

b. The number of accidental gun deaths per year
(all age groups) is 1,500.

c. The number of accidental deaths per gun owner
is .0000188.

Statistically, doctors are approx 9,000 times more
dangerous than gun owners.

FACT: NOT EVERYONE HAS A GUN, BUT ALMOST EVERYONE
HAS AT LEAST ONE DOCTOR.

Please alert your friends to this alarming threat.
We must ban doctors before this gets out of hand.

Jess it was my discharge test, if I could drive a Jumbo around the parking lot without blowing chunks after eating hospital food or additional abdominal discomfort and blow up Kats charging the gates (4 for 4 at 700 yds) while the CO is chewing you up in little pieces for taking that day off, I was cleared to be released home. Isn't this the same test all GI's get after surgery????? Huh, maybe I just got lucky, I wonder what they do if you get a lobotomy?????:D ;) :p

Mike made it too easy that time. That was like shooting fish in a bucket, or M4's on a battlefield...
