Still doing weird things.

LI is transporting a TBF squadron from Noumea to Rockhampton. The turn after leaving port the 15 plane squadron becomes 4 + 10 in reserve. I get with in range of Rockhampton, and fly off the 4, leaving the 10 in reserve on LI, and retuirn to Noumea. Two turns later we have the TBFs (4 +4 damaged-replacements presumably) at Rock, a fragment of 3 still on LI at Noumea, and another fragment of 4 appearing at the allied base at Lunga with 41 fatigue.

Game started under 2.2, but it's been several turn since the upgrade. No other issues seen.

Hey Dick- If I sail this haunted ship to Rabaul will you promise to sink if for me?

I used to just automatically send the d@mned (literally) thing back to Pearl whenever it appeared. My suggestion would be to attack it with those TBFs and put it out of your misery.

All around old Cape Horn,
Ships of the line, ships of the morn.
Some who wish they'd never been born,
They are the ghosts of Cape Horn.

See them all in sad repair,
Demons dance everywhere,
Tattered sails, southern gales, and none to tell the tale.

Ah, I love you rustic old sea dogs
Who follow the bright Southern Cross.
You were rounding the horn
In the eye of a storm
When you lost 'er one day.

And you read all your letters from oceans away,
And you took them to the bottom of the sea...

The problem is that no one is going to want to use it a PBEM game to test it out. I'll follow pasternakski's advice and just send it back hoping I can get something worthwhile.

What I really want for the Allies is some of those ASW barges. Just lost a sub that did a surface attack on a barge( 2.3 ).

I don't send LI back becasue it's important for the allied player to be able to move squadrons between the two theaters, and the LI is a good way to do it. In a transport role it has always worked fine.

As an update to my original post, the turn after, the 4-plane fragment that showed up at Lunga was gone, replaced by a 2-plane fragment. Appears to be a new fragment since they have 45 fatigue on them, the original fragment was at 41 fatugue, and was stood down.

The next turn, the 2-plane fragment is gone, and the squadron in Rockhampton is back to 15 planes. The LI still at Noumea has no remnants either.

The game fixed the problem, but in a rather round about way, and I have no idea why the fragments kept appearing at Lunga.

Bill

The captain of I-5 is eagerly awaiting the chance to sink the
Long Island. With IJN FOW, it's already been reported sunk three times.;)

I nearly pushed the scuttle button afterwards lol Loosing all my sweet TDB really upset me, seems they only planes it wont eat are none carrier onces, so i tend now to just use it to transport between the two theaters or perhaps ill just send it back right away and get something better instead?

I have since sent that ship packing back to pearl. I couldn't bring myself to intentionally let the bad guys sink it, although I was tempted.

Hi, I have not used it yet to transport carrier type groups but it is
picking up and moving fighter groups from SWPAC to SOPAC without trouble.
