Ok, I've been a slack arse, I know I know!!
Due to work, RL etc I've let the AAR slide a bit, but not to worry, this update brings it bang up to date!!

Batavia goes down on the 2nd June 1942, and the last pockets of resistance on Java are extinguished by Imperial troops shortly afterwards.
All of SRA is now fully under the control of the Empire.

After months of fighting, Changhsa has been likend to China's Stalingrad.
Even with the city cut off, months of fighting ensued, but finally resistance collapsed. The city was completely destroyed by the fighting.

Three divisions were required for the invasion of PB, and during the landings several ships were sunk by the 2nd Indian Coastal Artillery Regiment...curse them!!
The landings, although not without loss have got the fortifications down to lvl 2, and the defenders are not expected to be able to hold out for long.

Elsewhere;

Sian has been captured.

Troops are entering Port Moresby as I write this.

Hi guys!!

Been off the radar for a while owing to work commitments/ holidays/ being generally lazy. The game against Dirty Harry ( what a great opponent! ) has now reached the 1st September 1942, lots of action, excitement, triumphs and setbacks. Will bring up to date soon.

Chris

Message STARTS....

AAR UPDATE:- 23rd December 1942.

China:-

Imperial HQ are pleased with the progress of the China campaign.
After fierce fighting over the year, only a handful are still in Chinese hands. Preparations are now in hand to move on Chungking, where extreme street fighting is expected.
Intelligence suggests the Chinese Army is on its last legs with supplies at an all time low.

Burma:-

Burma has been a tough campaign so far, and large elements of the Imperial Army were engaged in a Stalingrad like battle at Akyab until the beginning of December 42.
Both sides threw everything into the battle which went on for months, with appalling losses on both sides.
Thankfully Akyab is firmly in Imperial hands, and preparations are in hand for the next phase of the campaign.

South Pacific:-

With Port Moresby and Guadacanal still safely in Imperial control, DH has found it tough going in the Pacific.
After a massive battle in June/ July, several American CV's were sent to the bottom, for the cost of only [ censored ] Japanese CV's
The Allies took Tarawa, Makin, Nauro and Ocean islands without too much problem, but then met with disaster at Kusaie, where most of the 27th Infantry Division and a couple of dozen Allied ships
ended up at the bottom of the sea.

Overall the situation is good, and Japan looks forward with confidence to 1943, although the ever increasing Allied air strength is causing concern.

END

19th March 1943

Communique from Imperial Headquarters:

1st, 13th, 23rd and the China Ex Force HQs report that the two and a half month siege at CHUNGKING goes on, with daily Artillery and bombardments and Aerial assaults.
Although intelligence reports nearly a million Chinese combatants are still defending, the end is close, and another huge assault is planned soon.

Imperial Forces are now closing in on Chittagong. A bloody land campaign has consumed vast resources, and the growing strength of Allied airpower is causing real concern. But the advance continues!

Kusaie ( or Kurasie as I incorrectly call it ), is STILL holding out, and hopes are high that the Americans can be pushed into the sea.

The Empires overall Economic situation is stable and slowly increasing. With more Imperial aquisitions/conquests planned this can hopefully continue to improve.

Latest Intelligence report.....thankfully quiet!

So the war continues( ed: albeit at a slower pace than I would like ). The overall situation looks good. My opponent has put up one hell of a fight, but the Empire has the initiative. For how long is another matter.
