Hi all, just watched my pbem combat replay and something strange happen: one of my ship, Kinai Maru (Kyushu class), in a CargoTF transporting Fuel, just sunk. No sub, no air attack, no ship collision, no ground collision, just burned and scuttled

Never see anything like this, any ideas? Just to be clear, I take the loss and go ahead, no problem at all (well, in real life fire happens sometimes). Just curious to know if you see thing like this before.

It happens. Ships explode from time to time. I've had an xAK blow up in harbor in one game, but I've not lost a combat ship yet.

Ouch! First time reading about Mutsu, thanks for share it. Better my xAK than BB, for sure. I love (or I hate?) this game. From tomorrow no cigarro on board, cerveza only.

Read the ops report, there might be something in there as a clue. Accidents happen and ships sink. In game it's less common than it was in real life.

often enough, I'll hear a random kerblam during the replay. This is usually a mine strike, or a navsearch Emily sinking another tanker.

Yes, usually I read about ship collision and rock collision, so the first thing I did was reading the ingame reports and find nothing (only the string I posted in first img):

So I read all the .txt files in save folder and obviously nothing again. As extrema ratio I installed Combat Reporter to see if a touch of magic happen, but again nothing. So I posted here to know if someone see things like this, just out of curiosity; I've 1.500/2.000 turns of play, but never saw this type of event (with no info) before.

Could it have been an allied search plane that actually did attacking it? I don't think the details for those attacks are reported...

Judging by the date, I'd say no. Also, those generally add a "Last hit by 250lb GP bomb", for example, which would then show as the cause of sinking - not scuttling.
