How do you increase support for individual ground units? For example if an infintry unit has a support # of 138 but the required support # is 144.

Thanks for any help.

Bring up more HQs. Don't try to get enough support in every bases. There are not enough HQs around to do that. Provide enough support only for important bases. How to split ground units like HQs? As I know the only way to do it is when the load value of a ground unit is 1600 and load it to 1000 AK or AP, it will split the ground unit. In other word, it will load the ground unit only as much as 1000 and and leave remaining 600 at the base it's loading.

If you look at the details of the unit, in the middle of the screen you will see what the unit is actually made up of.

Most units are short on the support side and need supplemental support.

All units located in a friendly base hex donate all their support teams to the base.

All units located at the base then draw support equal to what is needed by their current strength.

Shortages mean increased degradation of the unit.

As you look at the various units, you will see that units such as HQ are 100% support teams.

Base units are a special mix of support teams, aviation support teams and engineers to improve the base.

The aviation support teams are what provide the ability to base planes at a base.

Take a peek at these detail screens now and then, you will most certainly find some valuable stuff.

I know most folks probably found out much later in the game that the starting base unit located at Noumea is not required as SOPAC has aviation support units!

You will also learn what units are special in that they are self contained with having enough support so they are extra valuable as they can be deployed solo ...
