Check them out here (sorry, it's click-bait, and the typo in the error is bad, but the images are worth it). These pictures, more than anything else, helped me understand how my B-17s could be in maintenance mode for 15 days.

One might argue that German failure to develop both Strategic air forces and adequate defenses against such machines did cost Axis the war.
