The game will not let me fire on a target that is well within my weapons range. The targeting message says "the target's downrange ambiguity (4.8 nm) is larger that the 1x the weapons acceptable limit (0nm). The weapon is questions has a 6 nm range as I understand it. File is attached. Any idea what's wrong? Thanks....

I hate to do this again, but page 31 in the manual has a large section on ambiguity as related to weapon launch. Open manual, search ambig, first find.

Put together with basic lagic and it is saying you don't have a solid enough location to launch the weapon.

In fact, continuing the search has that specific message explained on page 53...did you even look in the manual?

Just so you know, this time I studied the manual before posting... and I have just now re-read the "ambiguity" section you mentioned. There is no way in the world that a reading of the Ambiguity section would lead me to conclude that I don�t have a solid enough location on the target. For what it's worth, I later positioned my ship within 2000 meters of the target vessel with no change in the ambiguity status. This may make sense to you, but it sure doesn�t make sense to me. C'est la vie. No worries!! I shall bother you no more....

I don't know what else to say. If you read the three sections in the manual it seems to me that the weapon needs no to minimal ambiguity. The exact message is explained and the message aligns with it perfectly.

If this was the first time not reading the manual, I can understand that. But a couple times in a couple days...and no response in the first thread for possibly wasting people's time...leads me to believe you want other people to do some of the work for you.

And frankly, I didn't know that about ambiguity and I learned something from it. But when I can find it with a few seconds and not knowing the answer, combined with the fact that your question didn't even mention you didn't understand the manual leads me to my conclusions.

I am assuming you read all three sections and not just the first one you came across.
