I get it all the time but it doesn't really affect anything and you can just ignore it.

Portner is your error message showing at the same time as Katukov's?

I've had this error occur once at the end of the first scenario in Tazak's 'Black Rats' Campaign just after re-constituting units before the second scenario, if that helps.

Didn't seem to affect anything though.

Thanks for mentioning this. the game should never throw an access violation like this so I need to fix it. A reported value of 000000 means I have tried to access an object in memory that either has not been created yet or has been freed already and returned to the pool. There may be more than one of these.

To trace it down I need to know where in the game it is happening and what you were trying to do at the time. That will get me to the right area and then I can force it to happen on my machine.

Thanks for your trouble, cheers, Rob C

This error message appears each time I start a new scenario ( against the AI or PBEM ) or a new campaign.

Please be aware that in my post "
Game will not start after hitting play or .exe" a few threads down, that I have a access error that keeps the game from starting at all. Mine is also related to another threat about a missing "colors" file. I have a dxdiag and bug report in my original post, so hopefully that will help your research.
