I am trying to make a mission, with one SAG containing several DDG, FFG and a tanker. For some reason, the tanker is designated as the lead of SAG. That is a bit sad, could I assign it back to the DDG or one of the FFGs?

Sure go into the formation editor and change it.

Its picks it because the displacement is large so it assumed to be the HVU which is not a sad way to look at it.
