You are the victim of the dread memory conflict. It happens to many people, at different times and in different situations, but mostly where multiple calculations need be done between and among several data sets. AE is a memory hog. It requires tons of it. If you have other programs open, you will eventually generate a conflict. Page swapping don't hep ya none. All it takes is one slipped bit in a register. AE is an old program. It was not designed to run alongside Tracker, Word, Excel, Explorer, or anything else. It wasn't even designed to run in windowed mode; that had to be shoehorned in. So although it's been made to look and feel like your usual Windows application - it isn't. With time, I could help you back that out, but your best bet is to go to michaelm and say 'hey'. And after you do that, run AE as a stand-alone, with nothing else on the task bar. That or get another computer with > 6MB memory and even then, be very careful about what else you open in the same session. Ciao. JWE
