I either don't understand the mechanics and process for air-to-air refueling (which is very possible) or there is a bug preventing it from occurring. In the attached save game I have a tanker support mission set up and several refuel capable aircraft circling (Group 6205, Group 6159 and Group 6154) but none will refuel.

I have checked all aircraft and they seem to have the right configuration to match the tanker. I select the refuel, if possible option but none move to link up with the tanker.

Can anyone please point out what I am doing wrong or confirm that this looks to be a bug?

The groups are set to 'never refuel' in the group doctrine.

I changed the doctrine and ran fuel on one of the groups down. And they automatically flew to tankers

Michaelm, My thanks to you for the simple solution.

I never thought to check the doctrine setting for this. Learning more and more about the game every day and enjoying it all the more

One of the best things you can do to start out is check the manual and the FAQs for doctrine settings. At least half the bugs reported by new players are usually doctrine settings.
