So a long, long time ago I played and enjoyed War in the Pacific, though it was quite complex and time consuming. Unfortunately I can't seem to remember how to play the game I played a decade ago; my memory isn't what it used to be. The amount of information found here and in various areas is quite intimidating and overwhelming. The FAQ for newbies is interesting as a reference, but doesn't match well with my learning style. I learn best by example. Is there a tutorial somewhere that can walk me through, action by action, the first turn of the full campaign, ideally from both sides, telling me what this person does and, more importantly, WHY they do it in the context of the game at large? Including not only how to load troops and equipment, but why they're sending task forces to different areas, and how it can affect the game years down the road, maybe even highlighting what making different choices might mean. So, ideally this tutorial will combine game mechanics (relatively easy to learn) in the context of why to use those game mechanics and what they mean in the context of grand strategy. Also, is there a place where I can learn what WitPTracker AE is and why I should use it? There doesn't seem to be a sticky anywhere that explains it, only that it has been updated, and I've found no explanation of it anywhere. Thanks for helping this (old?) newbie out.
