So It's been years and nobody has still come to a real concise conclusion on what these do right?

Can someone please enlighten me on the latest developments of what the heck these really do?

The Best example is what the heck does setting "control restricted Resources" on high do as compared to "Low"!?

So anyway, I think I figured out "Trade with Empires" - when you turn that off, none of the other empires will come to your stations or mines and take your stuff! So that makes sense and is good when stockpiling..

but the rest?... ha.. good luck.

seriously though.. what the heck is "control restricted resources"? some think it's the rare luxury items.. some think its the strategic resources!. and when setting it to low is it only allowing a "low" amount to be used? or only Keep a low amount of resources?? see what I mean.. it's killed me forever since this game came out..

At a guess, Tourism priority either helps determine how many passenger ships get pressed into service or it changes the ships behaviour to do more or less tourism (meaning less or more time for migration jobs) without needing you to outright turn of tourism using your own ships in order to get some migration done, however as you know there are other factors at play that also determine migration.

Exploration priority from what I've seen is how many exploration ships the AI builds.

Trade with other empires is mostly that however their private sector will still refuel at your locations.

I'm going to throw my lot into the super luxury group when it comes to control restricted resources. Tourism/ Exploration and Super Luxury control all factor into various empires victory conditions so it makes sense that there would be settings that would allow for forcing them to focus on specific things important to their expected victory methods.

I appreciate your response..

but yep, see what I mean.. even the manual doesn't state what Control restricted resources truly does and is.. and nobody knows! its so ridiculous haha..

I kinda think it's luxury resources.. but if so, does setting it very high mean to get alot of luxury resources?? or does it mean don't trade luxury resources and control them very high? aaaah!

haha. I've always wanted to know and it's always pissed me off.

Where is the Developer?? he should know what he made this trigger to do.!
