Steam has some nice feature for fixing app or installation issues although honestly we've had a really low volume of issue reports. Here are some tips for addressing Steam related Command issues.

1) If the game doesn't launch at start up consider Verifying the files.

To verify the data right click on the game in the steam library and select Properties>Local Files>Verify Integrity of Game Cache.

Also take a look at installing prerequisites.

2) Display/UI issues: Please consider disabling overlays, DirectWrite and shader pre-caching

Disabling DirectWrite: Open your steam client, go to settings from the Steam drop down. From there select interface and then uncheck the enable DirectWrite.

Disabling Overlays: Go to settings select InGame on the left and then uncheck the enable the steam overlay.

Disabling shader pre-caching: Go to Settings/Shader pre-caching and disable it.

3) Where are Command and the rest of my Games stored in the Steam folder?

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common

Command specifically:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Command Modern Air Naval Operations

Scenarios:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Command Modern Air Naval Operations\Scenarios

4) Can I manually install a beta over a steam install?

Yes but the risk is the time to delete the entire game and reinstall via steam. Please do backup your custom scenario files.
