Windows 10 - 7/31/2015 7:56:06 PM

I just installed Windows 10 and now CMANO won't load anymore. When I click on the usual "Play CMANO" button on the desktop I get the following message:
"Failed to load Lua! Error: Unable to load DLL "Lua52". the specified module could not be found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8007007E)"

What is Lua and how can I have it back so I can play CMANO???
Help, please!

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3762885&mpage=1&key=lua%2Cerror has the fix for win7/8, probably the same for 10.

Thank you very much. I downloaded and installed x86 (in fact re-installed) and now CMANO works.
Still MG should look over its products and try to find quick fixes whenever W10 causes these sorts of glitches.

I am not sure its a Win10 issue over it being some kind of distribution issue with all Windows. Most people don't have the issue. It just shows up now and then.

I have Kaspersky AV which apparently is not yet compatible with W10. So I had to uninstall it. The problem in fact cropped up after uninstalling KAV. All's well that ends well.

Hi Ginetto, if you without an AV at the moment, try Avast, it's pretty good and is friendly with Win10. Also use Malwarebytes (premium is amazingly good but free performs well too but not realtime like the premium version).

In Win8 and Win10, you most likely don't an AV separate from Windows internal security. They all update off of the same database and Win's organic apps play better with various DRMs.

I installed Windows 10 and now CMANO runs sluggish! It's atrocious. Might go back and do a clean install.

That's odd, have you checked your graphics drivers? When I updated to 10 Windows put on an old driver, need to install manually the latest version thats compatible with Windows 10. Is it for all scenarios (general running) or certain busy scenarios?

That's probably it. Once my file problem was solved CMANO runs well on W10. I'm becoming more convinced that W10 reacts differently in every computer, according to its set-up, graphics drivers etc.
Every time a new OS is released, everyone gets acid stomach, me included. Fortunately we have this forum.

I Upgraded from windows 7 Pro to windows 10 Pro x64 (spanish version), and CMANO stop running anymore, it opened for a few seconds then it closed, the initial logo picture was not shown.

So decided to do a clean install, Windows 10 Pro x64 (spanish), fomatted hard disk, installed drivers, and then CMANO 1.0 (without any upgraded; but with Direct X and Framework marked to install them,--no anti virus or any other program, just to check), same result, the initial logo picture is not shown the program closes after 3 or 4 second even if I run it as administrator(I open the task bar to see it: command 32 bit.exe)

At least I can play it with my other PC, but I cannot upgrade the other PC to windows 10 and loose this jewel.
..................................................................................................................

just in case this help, when windows 8.1 was publised there was a minor problem, Adobe illustrator CS6 was not compatible with Windows 8.1 spanish version, it was was about idioms and unicode program, an update dll called Alcid.dll solved the problem.

Not sure what could be wrong there Alex170g, hopefully someone will be able to assist.

I haven't been having any problems loading up (same specs as you but english) however, I am experiencing very slow gameplay with scenario Black Tiger 1, 2015. Anyone able to confirm they having a similar issue? Can't really play it, not sure if it's a Windows 10 issue or if an i5 and 4gig ram can't handle the scenario size maybe? Loading up other smaller scenarios though seems to be fine.

The one thing that jumps out is 4gb ram. That is the bare functional minimum for windows, let alone for an intensive program like Command.

hahaha I know! 8gig is on it's way but postal services taking their time, when they decide to actually work. However I didn't have any issues previously to the latest update so wasn't sure if it was ram specific. If it is then, then that should be sorted out soon thank goodness.

No, was talking about CMANO update, not Win10. Will do some more tests, perhaps something in the background. Win10 actually been really good on the 4gig sofar, no issues with any sims, programs or gaming. Can't say that about my older XP I've been fighting with.

I thought you posted this. Made me think you were using Win10...

@thewood1 Comms mix up, I'm using Win10, in the previous post I thought when you said "Well you did upgrade to Win10 didn't you?" you were referring to my mention of "I didn't have any issues previously to the latest update..." when I was meaning CMANO update, not Win10. No worries. What is odd though, while I'm only running 4 gigs RAM, I had better performance on the Win7 for CMANO than on Win10 even though with Win10 I have more RAM available. I'll tinker till I figure out what is going on unless the 8gig arrives. Could also be just some settings for Nvidia card. Not needing any assistance with it yet though, happy with the smaller scenarios for now so not really impacting me that much.

@Alex170g as VPaulus says, could be Nvidia, there are new Nvidia drivers out there for windows 10, best to check the Nvidia site and not depend on Nvidia updating from Windows own update option. If you have Windows 10, best to switch off the option in Updates that allows windows to update programs for you, this can cause issues in falling back to older Nvidia drivers or other conflicts appear. Best to just update programs when you or the programs want to and not letting Windows 10 do it. Of course though, leave Windows 10 to update itself for the many security reasons. If you have little bandwidth, also best to unselect the default option of downloading Windows 10 updates through other computers.

Nope, I have ATI radeon HD5440, first, I've installed the original/old win7 driver and CMANO, it didn't start, so updated the graphic card driver, downloading it directly from the ati web page,.....same result, CMNAO don't work.

The laptop is an ASUS A52JE with 4 gb of RAM.

Thank you for uour interest.

Hi Alex170g, it could be something with ATI. I know there are issues with Windows 10 and ATI drivers for Assetto Corsa. Perhaps there could a similar reason with CMANO then? Don't think they found a fix for it yet on the Assetto Corsa side.

Some win 8.1 Nvidia drivers have issues with Win10. Best bet all the way around is to immediately update graphics drivers after the update.

Please try to disable all background programs in case these are interfering with the normal running of the game. You can do this by running msconfig and disabling all non-windows start-up programs and services. Then once you have disabled all non-Microsoft services, please run the game and see if the issue persists. If it does not, please then reopen msconfig and reenable those services, one by one, until you find the program causing the problem. A tutorial on how to do this can be found below:

I disabled them, then re-initiate the laptop, re-check that everything was disabled with msconfig......but it didn't work, just the same issue, it opens for 4 or 5 seconds and then closes without opening the screen logo/picture, re-checked with task bar (The cpu used is reduced to 0%, when memmory is about 64.7mb, RAM memory also drops to 0mb).

Just to check, I un-installed ATI driver, (let along with windows10 drivers), again same result, game only load for a few seconds.

Thank you for your support and patience.

Try this:
Open the game installation folder. Locate and select a file named Command.exe. Press the right mouse button and select Properties. Click on the Compatibility tab. Tick the option Run this program as an administrator. Click on Apply and Ok. Double click on Command.exe for running the game.

That was one of the frist things I tried, also gave to the folder were command was installed all rights/Total control to all users, and I marked command.exe file compatible with older windows versions, neither of them or combinations of them worked.

Also tried run as administrator when services and star-up programs were disabled, (even when only windows10 and command were the only programs installed).

Thank you.

Is this the Steam or the non-Steam version?
Can you also attach a DxDiag report file?

Sorry I was on vacations.

The non-steam version, and it is as launched version 1.0 to avoid problems with LUA and others-
Attached file is the DXDiag.
