I can't get the game to start up anymore, when I use quick start the game immediately crashes with "Application has stopped working" error and the game window being white. Entering through the Game menu also doesn't work. Tried uninstalling, reinstalling, different patches etc. Doesn't matter if its a fresh install, game won't start.

Tried turning off the sound (_sound rename), didn't do anything.

Game was working a few weeks back, but not anymore.

Do you have crash details? Did you try to run it as administrator?

Tried running as admin, no luck. What details do you need? It just says "WarInTheWest Application has stopped working", then tries to (unsuccessfully) diagnose the problem. Really doesn't say anything else that is useful.

Can you attach a DxDiag report file?

How to get a Directx Dialog file:

1. click on "START" (on Windows 8 Press "Windows Key" + "R" and go to step 3)
2. click "run"
3. type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice
6. Attach the file to your post

The DxDiag file reports that you haven't your graphic card driver installed on Windows
Please install it.

Please re-run dxdiag but choose the 64 bit version once dxdiag has started. Current report looks like buggy detection of 32Bit version in 64Bit system.

Did you get a warning or error message during the dxdiag run? Otherwise something is seriously messed-up with your gfx driver. This may require a complete driver uninstall and reinstall after reboot.

When you say "our" GFX driver, do you mean the one on my computer?

Tried uninstalling and reinstalling drivers (via control panel --> uninstall a program (category view) --> Uninstall/Change the Nvidia drivers. Still doesn't work. I'll give it another shot then resubmit the dxdaig.

Okay no luck with removing all the Nvidia drivers and then reinstalling them. Here is the current dxdiag:

I don't know what happened, I had this game working fine a few months back. Doesn't seem to matter what patch I have installed, the game doesn't work at all in any version. Something happened with my computer but I am not sure what.

Your display driver is not detected by dxdiag. Googling "D7B70EE0-4340-11CF-B123-B03DAEC2CB35" gives lots of hits, but basically you need to repair your system.
