It seems I have lucky streak today :) Anyway, due to accidentally enabling engage opportunity targets for whole side, I noticed that:

1. F35 with AAW loadout and on AAW Patrol tries to engage submerged sub (N15.40 E112.15)
2. SSN on ASW Patrol tires to engage some land structures (N16.40 E112.40)

I think opportunity targets should be restricted to those which can be engaged regarding to loadout and preferably WRA.

Yes, Opportunity Targets will cause units to engage just about anything. F-22s will engage SA-10 sites with its 20mm gun, etc.

Don't use it if you don't mean it

But if you DO mean it, you have the ability to do so!

As such, the feature works exactly as designed.

This example I can understand, because in theory F-22 can destroy SA-10 with gun. However, in above case F-35B tries to engage with gun sub which below surface, and SSN tries to engage land structure with torps :)

Anyway, thats why I almost never use "engage opportunity targets" and found that extreme cases only via other mistake I made.

No. This is staying on our list. The AI shouldn't be hunting targets the aircraft can't actually hit.

Will add this to our long term list.
