KB move toward Shimushiri-jima but some of allied carriers also. An we exchange fire.
At the end i will cal it tactical tie but small strategic allied victory.

Your analysis is wrong here. Give yourself more credit! This was a strategic victory. If the Allies don't manage to wrest control of the seas from you they will lose 50k soldiers. Trading blows like you just did will have a much greater effect on the Allies. Especially because I think you got rather lucky on which ships where hit. You have LBA here the Allies do not. And you do not have to go back far to take replacements; the KB can be back in just a couple of days I bet while the Allies need to go back to Alaska for that. I think Allies will really be hurting to provide CAP now over the beaches.

good plan!

It was not good plan

No, I think the plan was sound. The result might not have been optimal, but I wouldn't call it bad. As others have noted, if you stopped him from supporting the landing then strategically you won. If you are able to oust him from the beachhead, then tactically and strategically you win.

Thanks for support.
I did not sent turn. I needed one day to rethink next moves.
Also it looks that another AC TF ~250 planes is moving toward Marcus Island.
I am air lifting more troops there

And about KB. If i retreat KB without loses, I should be able to replace planes and pilots in 48-72h. And for sure few days to rebuild morale. I should have 900 planes in service.
Enough to keep Docup nervous.

It all depend what Docup will do. If he stay, it will be difficult to reinforce island garrison. If he retreat to lick wounds i will try to unload another ID and some Arty and AT guns.

Difficult times in front of me

Any idea what kind of CV and CVE assets the Allies would have left available at this point? I recall Docup losing many CVs earlier so I'm curious what he has left available right now.

Estimated total power of allied carrier planes is 3000+ planes.
But most of that are CVE. On CV it should be less that 1500 planes total

In battle area i believe even 1000+ still operational.

I agree with Pax and Sangell. +1

It always hurts to lose ships as Japan, but you have done really great. You came out well ahead I think.

That estimate of total Allied CV capacity being 3,000 seems a bit high unless you are counting damaged ships. 1,000 left in the battlefield seems more appropriate I think. If that's the case then Docup has already lost around half his strength in damaged and sunk ships.

What are you doing to aid your ground units in the battle? Are you flying in reinforcements yet? You probably can't get much through but a critical moment like this every little bit helps. All you really need to do is hold off until the Allies pull back which can't be much longer now.

I hate to say it, but I think you need to stick around. Here's my thinking:
Allies have only two choices here:

push forward, support the landings and get more supply/troops off-loaded

OR

Bail.

If he bails, he is several days transit each way, so at least a week or more. You are only a day or two. Meaning you can be back long before he can.

You have to wait and see what he does. Consolidate groups from damaged CV's and get those back to RSY's. Re-balance your TF's as best you can, bring up more LBA, continue to get more troops moving to the area. Don't get distracted by Marcus ... it is unessential. This landing is where you can punish him some more.

If he comes forward, you need to be able to resist. I would not allow him to reinforce the landing unimpeded.

If he leaves, you leave the next day. You will be back 2 or 3 days before he possibly can and during that time your LBA should be pounding his troops and you should be landing more in addition to strengthening the area and getting MORE LBA assets in place.

Just my thoughts, use them as you see fit.

I already air transport there 36 47mm AT guns and 18 75mm arty guns. Next turn i will start air transporting infantry.
I have also full ID on ships ready to transport there but i need few days without DS for that.

I have problem with LBA bombers to attack beachhead. They simply refuse to fly because of weather

Another hideous battle for Docup... gee he plays like a soviet general throwing his troops forward with no regard for losses.

I believe that is a Leadership roll (might be aggression?)... check your air group leader stats make sure it is > 60

In this case it was weather. Thunderstorms over Ominato and Hokadate for last 3 days

11 March 1945

I have ordered KB to retreat Wast. I plan to rearm and replace loses and be back in combat in 4 days. Most damaged ships where send to separate TF with order to try move toward Hokkaido.

Major piece of KB manage to move safely East and now they are undetected near Kushiro. Tomorrow they arrive to home port and will refuel, rearm and replace planes.

Sadly CVL Chiyoda sunk last turn. I have also two CVEs half way from Hokkaido. One if avoid subs will be safe. Second will probably sunk tomorrow (heavy damage and huge fires).

To secure retret of KB, I have send BB SAG and lot of MTB toward allied fleet.

BBs after battle. They are near Shimushiri-jima and will need to ronn for live.
Sadly Ise is capable only for 6kn at full speed and even if survive for him war is over. 9 months is dry dock is optimistic

Criminal task force composition by the Allies in 1945. The mind boggles. Heads should roll in the American Admiralty.

In this case, I guess they sank.

Unbelievable turn of events. Glory to the Emperor!

So day start.

Again bombers dont attack enemy troops on Shimushiri-jima.
Another wave of bpmbers attack allid fleet. But enemy CAP was strong but not as strong as expected.
Docup was only able to send barely 170 fighters over main CV TF

What is interesting all allied ships are fleeing East. His fleet is spread on 1000 miles.
Also what i see are two CV TF. It looks like ~400 fighters and 200 bombers total.

I believe in this case Docup have no chose.
I believe Docup left those BBs behind. They where heavily damaged. Both eat TTs earlier.
Both with critical damaged from fuel or ammo explosion. they probably was not able to move fast enough to catch with main fleet so Docup sacrifice them so save other ships.

Well, he is bailing out. Get your reinforcements in quick. Bombardment TF's will help during poor weather. You will have to stage your xAKE's in Etorfu (or your biggest port up there depending what you have built up) to rearm the TF's. IIRC, Aden converted will rearm your 36cm guns .. can't remember if they rearm the 40cm on the Nagato's or not ...

Aden class AKE can rearm all expect Yamato.
I have one sailing there, should be in few days. Another one in week+ maybe

As You write it looks he is retreating. Time to use that window. Full elite Guard ID will next turn move toward Shimushiri-jima. TF will move 6 hexes daily and need to travel 15 so i am expecting landing at night of day 3.

KB will tomorrow enter Ominato port. Refueling, rearming, standard maintenance.(only one day)
Most of groups already fly to Ominato AF, and they take replacements. In next two days they will all fly back to KB.

After one day on Ominato KB - without Zuikako, Taiho and with only one CVL - will back to sea and at day 3 should join Amph TF adding support to landing operation

By air i will move as much as i can. It is chance to transfer 100AV daily with all those TR planes i have

Question is if i will hold two more days

If something will be in range tomorrow i expecting first combat use of Ki-115b as kamikaze
That 382mph speed and 800/500kg bomb load should work nice

I have found Tsurugi to be very effective. BANZAI!!

Based on your screenshots, I think you will hold unless you get really bad luck. Double check LCU leaders is about all you can, and maybe a weather break to get some LBA bombing runs.

Good Luck!
