This scenario is a follow up to my Kamchatka scenario, playable from the Soviet side. After the USN carrier raid on Petropavlovsk, the Soviet SSBN bastion in the Sea of Okhotsk is open to attack. The Red Banner Pacific Fleet must protect its strategic submarines.

This scenario should provide an opportunity to explore Soviet bastion tactics with an emphasis on ASW and defense against patrol aircraft in remote areas. I also wanted to use the TAKR Minsk and its air group in a useful role I think it was designed for. In addition you will get to see missile strikes on a CVBG from the other side of the fence.

I am quite pleased how this turned out, I had a lot of fun on my first play through. I hope you will enjoy it as well.

Feedback and comments are as always welcome.

Nice scenario! launched my bombers too early and of course just before they were in range they went BINGO and headed for home lol.

The backfire group launched though and managed to sink 2 DD's a Guided missile cruiser and to my surprise managed to nail the CVN as well!

Time compression didn't seem to work at anymore then x15 even with no jamming from my side.

Cheers

Also, good scenario!!

I have only been playing for five hours game time, but the problems you provided are challenging and in need of creative solutions because the Soviet fighters and SAM's are quite crap compared to the US forces..

I spend 30 minutes chasing an Orion with that flying brick called "Yak" and I just had 6 MIG-21's shot down by an F-16 sweep :( ...

Ok, I just finished the scenario. I sank the US fleet in one massive strike and did't even loose a single bomber (although I did loose about 20 fighters to the Tomcats).

Excellent scenario although I have some small remarks:

* You need to station those US jammers over Kamchatka further out to the east as now even my Yaks can kill them
* Provide some air to ground ordinance for the MIG-21/23's so they can take out the Japanese radars if the player want to do
this.
* Besides just attacking the radars think big, program in a big CV alpha strike to destroy the Iturup runways. This will
teach careless players not to mess with you ;)
* The Iturup SA-2f's need more ammo, they already ran out of reloads after five hours of game-time (37 missiles fired and
they hit absolutely nothing in return and there wasn't even jamming taking place, i'll never be weary of SA-2f's ever again).
* You have mines at multiple bases, but arming AC with these these takes so much time (20 hours) that this is unrealistic.
Rather have half of your bombers start with these preloaded so you can start the scenario with a big
mining mission instead.
* You have many useless SAM's and SSM launchers in-game which you can delete, these serve no purpose and only slow the game
down.

Well done.

W.
