Hello

Yesterday I noticed that when I order neutralizing fire barrage and tried to order all three FRPs into the same hex, one of them automatically is placed to an adjacend hex. This happened in tutorial scenario with the off map units as well as with the on map unit 1st Mrt but not with the 1st Inf mortar unit. What's the logic behind this behaviour?

I think it's a bug. For the time being you can just drag the third waypoint to the desired hex.

BTW something similar happens, when you want to place the movement waypoint on the same hex, on which the unit starts it's movement. This issue appeared only in 2.09.

Thank you for the answer. Now that we're on the topic of artillery, does "on call" order mean that artillery unit is able to recieve fire mission requests automatically from the line units as well as from the player during the orders phase?

Every once in a while a waypoint marker seems to jump to an adjacent hex. I tend to click in open parts of the hex and not on the markers even in the same hex. As Katukov points out , once you set the order you can drag the errant waypoint back in the hex.

ere's a work-around in the meantime: When you go to click a waypoint, make sure you are not clicking on top of another waypoint. Move your mouse to the side a bit.

Also, be sure your target hex is not real close to a map edge. As you are holding to do waypoints (movement or arty targets), the auto scroll can trigger and you end up with a waypoint that is not where you want.

As long as you have FSCC 'ticked' any battery set to on-call will fire in support of your line units and other priority fire missions (CB and HQ located)

During the orders phase you can also override any FSCC missions given to artillery to set your own targets and mission types.

Does the direct support generate firemissions automatically even if I turn FSCC off? And thank you everyone for great answers!

I believe the FSCC needs to be on for Direct Support to work. I'll have to check that to be sure.

If it doesn't work without FSCC could it be changed to work? With my reasoning direct support should work automatically as you specifically assing the FS unit to offer support to a single unit. From my point of view it would add another layer of immersion. Just my two cents :) And thanks for the great game!

Allow me.

Options menu. As a rule of thumb, I try to reflect the differing command structures by leaving FSCC on for NATO, and off for the Soviets

Three artillery battalions are given direct support orders, at 1 battalion per tank company. You'll notice that the ability to turn on Soviet FSCC is still present however, when this should be greyed out.

An Abrams company gets the jump on a T-64 battalion.
The Soviet FSCC mysteriously re-activates itself. Note that this is in head-to-head mode.

Finally, the BM-21s open fire. But only them, the 2S3s were completely silent. However, it's too late. The T-64 battalion has been completely annihilated in less than 54 minutes.
