slight error noticed

will now attack both of these by air, both start ont only red but also at 10...

doesn't matter, hasn't done it now, first time i played it and attacked these, they went up to 15 and 18, once targeted by the allied planes, now it seems to be working

then as well on the second hits for both, you couldn't do a 3rd try but both was on the map still until end of turn where both then vanished, strange it hasn't done it this time, ah well, will keep looking and playing...

ah well knew i should have screen shotted it first time

if you press end turn while your plane is flying to a mission, the game locks up as well

game log files for you to look at if needed

none are real bugs or issues tbh, just noted them if others try the same thing...

game save worked fine on reload even tbh, so no problem, just for info...

They sure sound like pretty big bugs to me. Crashing, and alt-tabbing not working. This, coupled with some other folks having problems with the first Frontline game not working on iPad, and getting no response from the developers, makes me hesitant.

I guess I won't get this game after all. I have too many games anyway.

games fine, no real issues tbh, played it for 2 hours now, only the odd hiccup and for the price of both it's almost free so for a bit of light fun i like it, i post to much so none of above should be seen as problems, as once you find a way of getting around the small things its a good little cheap game with plenty of fun to be had...

i'm just picky as i test stuff so find stuff quicker than most

cant think of any i had with Frontline either, but i only have the pc version anyway, but will put it on my tablet and see how it goes over the weekend

jglazier, don't let any of this put you off, it's £3.00 and tbh i pay more for postage for most Christmas cards to be sent abroad

got it on another play, once bombed as per first post, unit goes up and not down for damage, can't bomb it again either as it doesn't let you bomb more than twice, as tbh it's not there, it's already destroyed just not removed off the map

bombed once it went to 16 from 10, then bombed it again and it didn't alter, now tried a 3rd time and no bombs show up over head as a target and its removed next turn...

seems only to effect the German units which are red to start off with, also had a few screen lock ups on the Germans turns, so would be better if you had a auto save as well

mission 2, no problems found so far, all working well, no manual to tell others what to do mind you, so a basic guide would be nice, as its been asked and should have been brought up in beta testing

seems if you finish mission 2, you are stuck in a loop and replay it again as it doesn't go onto mission 3....

so one has some small flaws, 2 works fine apart from a few German units who wish to disappear or not die when dead or vis-versa, either way it's a bit strange and seems not very tested tbh

Wonderful game but have noticed some annoying bugs.

Units destroyed not removed.

As a knock on to this your units can not move directly into that location, but will move through it as part of a movement path- this is a real pain when this happens on an objective.

In the Sword beach scenario certain German units cannot be bombed.

The AI will move through (spotted) minefield hexes even where a mine free movement path exists

Sometimes when you supply units the function remains "stuck" on several units for several turns afterwards where the "cost" shows even where supply unit not selected and clicking on the unit supplies it - no other action available.

Also had the bug (reported above) where bombing a unit increases its strength.

On saving and reloading unless I am going mad some cleared minefields reappeared - bit of a pain when your engineers have moved a lot further on.

Still an excellent game though, in my opinion better than road to moscow

Excellent news re patch

Had same buge re minefields and supply today

Plus finished scenario and couldn't end it due to "ghost" unit on map and/ or no units with ability to "March"

Oh, also reloading saved game resets turn count ie turn 50 reloads as turn 1 - but ast same stage of game play

Sigh

Played through 3rd mission again from the start and got the "march" promotion and used it.

There is a "ghost" unit on map which will not attack (the actual unit which was there had moved down off the hill abd been destroyed in fighting for the town) and cannot be attacked.

so, I cant complete the mission or unlock new missions.

Looking forward to the fix as I think this is quite possibly the most enjoyable Matrix release I have.

I have a screen dump of the unit left on map (the Marine above Colomby)but cant seem to paste it here?

you dont have the rights until post 10, then you also need to do it in the right forum format, and size, hopefully patch will sort you out, just post a few more times and all restriction will be off

Thanks for the info.

Also another little quirk.

I tried saving and then reloading in the hope that this would remove the rogue ghost unit.

What happened instead was that the map reverted to as it was at the start of the scenario.

The units however remained in the correct positions.

This means that I cannot see them as they are all under the "fog of war"

looking forward to the fix(es) as this has the potential to be a great game.

It's odd, as I'm almost done with the first game (Frontline Moscow) and have had no problems whatsoever. Could be they rushed the second one out a bit for the holiday, but who knows?

Absolutely agree. Purchased this one as I had played the Moscow game from begining to end with absolutely no problems that I can recall.

Some of the problems with Longest Day do suggest a lack of testing as they are really rather obvious.

Looking forward to the patch because I think it is much better game than the Moscow release (well, it will be when the bugs are fixed) - although that is a very good game too.

I had a similar problem with this identical unit. During combat (it might be air attack) the unit loses a few points and then doubles it's health points and a second (identical) unit appears in the same hex. Only one of them is real however, and it will take damage and can be destroyed. The "copy" stays on the map - looking real and blocking progress through it's hex - but it won't fight and can't be attacked.

I am starting to wonder about that too. I really like the game but the glitches and slow response is starting to bother me.

yes it's a shame as i liked it, beta was internal so if anyone's fault, it's not any board members regarding bugs, fixes seem to not be coming for anyone that needs it, with no replies now for a long long time, on both forums :(

such a shame

Hello SwedeWolf,

Unfortunately this is not something Paulo or I can deal with. I was trying my best to speed this up (you can see the posts on the Slitherine forum) but this is something that the producer and developers need to advise on. We are chasing this and hope to have a conclusive update shortly, but until then unfortunately Paulo nor I can advise.

Ok, I understand. Thanx for replying.
And sorry wasnt refering to you or VPaulus about the lack of response. The developers need to have an open dialog to remain in the customers trust, whatever happend to the coding process.
