So, after ten years of this game. I have finally decided that I am simply the worst player in WITP history. Like easily.

Game one, my opponent rolled over China and Burma like the hexes were empty. So swift was his conquest of both of them he is now pouring into India and we haven't gotten out of February.

Game two, my opponent has literally taken the entire south pacific, DEI, the PI, 80 percent of China. He all but ignored Burma, instead took Ceylon and is now pouring into south India with multiple divisions. We just got to March 42. That one is pretty game over.

Game three, my opponent has Carriers marauding off of Karachi supporting his swift move on the west coast of India after multiple amphib invasions. I can't even slow him down since the Royal Navy pretty much sunk.

Game four, I decided to be the Japanese and try something different. I am bogged down in China, and just watched all my carriers absorb multiple 1000 lb bombs Noumea. The did very little in response. It's January. I cannot figure out how my japanese opps are landing in India and I can't even get out of China :P.

Clearly, I need to attend WITP school. Because I seriously suck at this game.

To my opponents...I'm sorry I am making such a poor show of it.

Heh it does take a lot of patience playing that game and if you understand how to play Chess, you might be able to figure out something here. Recons is the best things in this game, knowing what your opponent is doing and where/when it going to happen.

HA! Well I have always been a below average player. I have never won...never mind gotten past 43 very often. My last 4 games though...holy **** do I suck.

I may take some leave and re evaluate my position as the Grand Admiral of the fleet :P.

speechless.

I would elect Dan as the worst WITP player ever.
because:
He left us hanging after the earliest counter invasion in RL or WITP. MAN< I WANTED TO KNOW IF HE COULD PULL IT OFF!!!!!!

all hail the gentleman from Ga.
brass balls and cannon balls.

**seriously, I have friends that have become alcoholics, left their wives for tattooed one night stands, and
utterly embarrassed themselves in public since I've been playing. But I am free of guilt, happy as a clam, and
having fun.(and I've just been AV'd). Stay the course!

We all loose... and it's not how you handle your wins that counts, it's how you handle the losses. Chin up, it could be worse you could be loosing AND pregnant!!!! Hal

How is this not all over the news channels? Your opponent must be extremely subtle and clever.

Anyway, who am I to call anyone up on anything? I cheat when I'm playing against the AI, and I can't reliably take over an undefended atoll in game, never mind the entire South Pacific Theatre of Operations.

If I ever work up the nerve, and time, to do a PBEM game you'll look like Admiral Nimitz compared to my Colonel Klink level talents at this game......

LOL...well I need to develop an early game defend India at all costs strategy now...my last three JFB opponents...first thing they did was hammer India.

I have to disagree, because I'm the worst player. At least playing Japan, I have never even tried GC allies.

Usually my cunning plans end up loosing lots of carriers and other capital ships. In my ongoing game it's now Feb 1944 and I've lost every japanese fleet carrier. Every one of them, only couple CVLs and CVEs left. Lost them for nothing, because allies have lost just one or two CVs. And what about my surface fleet? Let's say that last month fast escort class ships (those with couple torpedo tubes) have been fighting against allied fleet...

We should sometimes play against each other. Worst allied player vs. worst japanese player.

At least your brave. I just go thump the AI every time I suffer at the hands of a better player. (I've only ever won one short scenario).

No, you are miss interpreting your strategy ... you are on a fuel saving strategy. Fewer ships, burn less fuel!!!
I employ the fish farming strategy, remarkably similar, to keep all of my people fed.

It is not win or lose. Anybody can lose.
It is the total process.
That is why I’m the worst player of WITPAE.

I’m an Architect in real life and we tend to be “space cadets”. True in my case, I’m not focused.
I’m all over the place in orders mode and will chase bright but meaningless objects.

I’m old and my memory is shot. Task forces show up in a port and I can’t remember why they are there.

I get emotionally involved and focus on a single combat and forget the big picture.
I will press an attack when I should run.

I’m lazy. I don’t want to do the workload so I procrastinate. Stuff stacks up.

It is also not helpful that I’m into this game way too deep:

I hate to say it but you kind of sound like a Japanese Fan Boy

Every Allied player is terrible in '42 because the Allies were terrible in '42 in RL. As a JFB myself, you REALLY need to take the LOOOONG view as an AFB.

Japan in most of '42 can do whatever she wants whenever she wants. However, she cannot do EVERYTHING she wants. Regardless of what it looks like to you now. You just need to realize that the Allied 'game' begins in '43. It can be started earlier, if a JFB makes some big blunders.

So it is not you playing poorly, it is the poor situation the Allies were in in RL. So they are actually the worse players of AE, not you. Shame on them for making you feel so bad about yourself

My fuel saving strategy is definitely working. I already have enough fuel for the rest of the war. Maybe I just stand down my entire tanker fleet. That'll make allies wonder...

But didn't you know, fish prefer american steel.

I don't know...

Cannonfodder has rolled me over pretty thoroughly. China is extinct. Half of India is gone. Japanese sitting at Suva.

The light bulb tends to come on after it's happened.

If you ever wanna go as the Japanese against the allies, I may take you on, just to make you feel better. I lost the entire merchant marine in my last game. I was literally down to 7 AK's in the entire theater! By May!

I ought to set the record straight! Zulu is referring to my game with John III that ended around Sept. 10, 2013. It wasn't I that actually pulled the plug on that game, but rather John III! However, in the interest of the "whole truth," I had seriously floated the idea of calling the game for a variety of reasons, including some real life matters and a massive case of AE burnout. I had requested a ceasefire and it's all but certain that I would have soon resigned, but John called the game before I could make that formal. :)

As to the topic of this thread, so many good players have suffered so many public, highly embarrassing defeats. Especially Allied players. Anybody remember raverdave?

On my own score, I had John sink most of the Allied Death Star on the south edge of the map in one of my first games, perhaps ten years ago. I had managed the run the Death Star out of fuel somewhere in the middle of nowhere. It was making two hexes per turn.

I suck!

The funny thing about this is that I was running AWAY from your CV TF's.

Well, not so funny for you. Even my 12 year old son said, "Dad, I hope those aren't your carriers getting hammered."

True, I feel your pain and I can relate. Its why I started giving TF's names that will help remind me of what they're doing. Now what really hurts is when I do this and still can't remember what the h**l the convoy's there for.

I can see the ARR now, entitled "Battle for the Bottom"

What the h**l am I laughing at, I'll probably fit in quite nicely in any such game.
