Has the 1.01.01 update impacted on Strategic bombing effectiveness?

It has always been the case that Bomber Command results were erratic, but now I never seem to be able to get more than 2 or 3% Manpower damage even when flying with three to four hundred bombers on well reconned targets. I have always bombed with Bomber Command at 21000ft, but even dropping to 18000ft has not improved the performance (nor, surprisingly, has it increased damage to BC). 8th Air Force does better (flying at 25000-27000ft) in terms of damage inflicted, but also seems to take more damage than previously at these altitudes.

Just as concerning is the impact on port or railyard damage. I can't get 100% port damage even on a level 1 port, with successive three to four hundred bomber raids.

Having said that, there now seems to be a higher proportion of axis aircraft and pilot losses than before.

Has something changed, because I'm not sure I have changed what I do?

There was no direct modification on the bombing efficiency. Usually I don't see problem of hitting large urban area with nigh attacks.

What city you are trying to bomb? What is the date? Blind bomb accuracy can be heavily reduced outside Oboe range in 1943.

Hannover, Cologne, Frankfurt, Essen (and other Ruhr cities), July, August, September 1943. Not sure what Oboe is and it's range. Nevertheless it worked for me on 1.48, which is why I wondered if something had changed.

17.3.4.1. OBOE Radar Targeting System
OBOE ground radar allows better night bombing of
factory targets when bombing within 27 hexes of any of
the following four locations 58,183 – 76, 182 – 87,180 –
90,170. This capability exists during for the entire game.

It is visible as dark shaded hexes when setting bombing city AD.

Thanks for the help, I assume then that this means keeping close to Essen etc and brave the flak?

Most of your targets are within the range (except Hannover). Personally I see no issue to make damage to manpower in night raids.

Thanks again. I see you have used a huge bomber force (but few fighters?) so I'll give that a go.
