[FIXED DB v442]

When you are back please have a look into this.
I`ve found some odd range numbers for AGM88 loadouts in the DB3000 Build 440:

F/A18C+D AGM88E Short Range: 500nm
F/A18C+D AGM88C Short Range: 340nm
and:
F/A18E+F AGM88E Short Range: 405nm
F/A18E+F AGM88C Short Range: 560nm

The actual fuel consumption (cruise, 10km) seems to match with the given range.
But as weight and size of the loadouts is the same, should the Range not be the same?

Also i found:
F/A18C+D AGM88E: 500nm

Same range as short range but 732 kg more payload.

Thanks.

it looks like the Tarantul III Mod (#2963) or the R-60 has some wrong item
such as it doesn't have those two AK-630M but it was replace by the Palash system

[NEED MORE INFO + UPDATED DB v443]

As per this post:

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3953101

I was just looking at the fuel level on this ship and it's reporting 123 tons of diesel fuel for a 37k ton ship, compared to the A 1411 Berlin which is a 20k ton ship with 7600 tons of diesel fuel.

Is this a typo or something else?

Additionally the R 08 Queen Elizabeth has "Gas" rather than "Diesel". The ship is CODLAG (or possibly CODLOG) so it would definitely be Diesel.

According to wiki the engines are electric (four GE Power Conversion's 20 MW Advanced Induction Motor (arranged in tandem) electric propulsion motors that drive the twin fixed-pitch propellers) and powered by these power units:

2 × Rolls-Royce Marine Trent MT30 36 MW (48,000 hp) gas turbine
4 × Wärtsilä 38 marine diesel engines (2 × 12V38 8.7 MW or 11,700 hp & 2 × 16V38 11.6 MW or 15,600 hp)

Please can you update the engines and also fuel stats.

Thanks.

[UPDATED DB v443]

Evening!

While doing pictures for my DB, I noticed that a lot of specifications and designations of the Tarantul I/II/III-classes are wrong and/or twisted. I put a good amount of time into research but as a result, I think I got it right now. Working with images helped a lot figuring out what weapons and sensors belong to which class. I highly recommend correcting the designations first as it makes distinguishing between the different names and platforms a whole lot easier.

- Rename to RK Tarantul III [Pr.1241.1M]
- Replace Cross Dome [MR-352 Positiv] with Band Stand [Monolit]
- Remove both Wine Glass [MP-407]
- Add Light Bulb?
- Remove 2 x PK-16 DL

- Replace SS-N-22 Sunburn [P-80 Zubr] with SS-N-22M Sunburn [P-270 Moskit]
- Increase SA-N-10 Gimlet magazine size to 12 missiles

Generic changes:

- Please remove all Half Hat [MP-405] and/or Wine Glass [MP-407] systems aboard all ships of the RK Tarantul I [Pr.1241RE]-class in the DB.
- Appearantly, the Wine Glass [MP-407] ECM system does not seem to be installed on any vessel of the various Tarantul-classes. I could pinpoint the MP-405 EW system using images but I struggled to find any MP-407 components.
- All vessels of RK Tarantul II [Pr.1241.1T] and RK Tarantul III [Pr.1241.1M] should be equipped with a Light Bulb [Pricep] datalink antenna, not sure how much sense this makes since it's just a datalink antenna without any further function tho.
- Also, please replace the SS-N-2c Improved Styx [P-15M] with SS-N-2d Improved Styx [P-20M] aboard all craft of SKR Tarantul I [Pr.1241RE].

There's a lot of conflicting information regarding the true naming convention of the different subclasses. Some sources claim that all vessels of Project 1241 or just the vessels of Project 1241.1 are named as "Molnyia" or "Molnyia-1" while others say that only Project 1241.8 and 1242.1 vessels were designated "Molnyia". For the life of me, I couldn't figure out what's the right way... Maybe Triode can help us out here.

In the process of collecting data I found these two additions I'd like to include in the Russian DB. One of them is the R-60, requested by Pancor above.

RK Tarantul III [Pr.1241.1MR] for Russia

After construction of the first nine ships of Project 1241.1M, the SS-N-22 Sunburn [P-80 Zubr] ASMs were replaced by more modern SS-N-22M Sunburn [P-270 Moskit] as well as two Half Cup [Spektr-F] Laser Warning Receiver (the game says these are RWRs) were installed above the MP-405 EW domes. These changes were standardized accross all 23 remaining vessels to come, therefore creating Project 1241.1MR. First vessel of Project 1241.1MR was R-293 (874) which was laid down on 30.04.1991 and commissioned on 23.03.1992.

- Year: 1992
- Add 2 x Half Cup [Spektr-F]
- Replace SS-N-22 Sunburn [P-80 Zubr] with SS-N-22M Sunburn [P-270 Moskit]

RK Tarantul III Mod [Pr.1241.1M] for Russia (1)

Regalur Project 1241.1M missile boat R-60 on which both AK-630 as well as all four PK-10 DL were removed and a single Palma CIWS was added instead.

- Year: 2005
- Remove both AK-630M
- Remove all PK-10 DL
- Add Palma CIWS

When did this happen?. This is a key detail needed to implement.

Looks like Supreme posted it

Thanks

[ADDED DB v443]

Yes, see my post above. The R-60 is a modified Project 1241.1M, not a Project 1242.1. As for the question if it is necessary to implement this in the game. In the end it's up to you to decide whether or not this is an necessary addition to the DB. I think chances are very high that most folks, modifying the vessel themselves, would not notice that they also need to remove the PK-10 DLs as well. For my part, I would appreciate having the platform as an own entry. Just my two cents...

[SOME UPDATES DB v442 + MORE INFO NEEDED]

Some F-35-related suggestions:

1. External short-range 24x and long-range 16x SDB and SDB II loadouts

2. Removal of internal gun from B and C variants and replacement with a gunpod for certain external stores loadouts

3. The Navy has an RFI out for an AARGM range extension with objective IOC 2021 and threshold IOC 2022, mandating internal carriage on F-35A/C and compatibility with all Hornet variants A-G. The goals are range and survivability improvement without changes to the seeker, warhead, terminal behavior, aerodynamic profile, or mass. I don't know if this crosses the threshold into adding an AARGM-ER yet, as this is going pretty far out into the 2021 time frame and the missile's performance can only be guessed at. (I'd link the RFI but this post was eaten once already for containing a link)

4. If #1 and #3 are acceptable, Block 4 F-35 SEAD and DEAD loadouts. Internal might be 2x AARGM-ER or 1x AARGM-ER 4x SDB-II (can the F-35 carry asymmetric stores in the bay?) and external might be 2x AARGM 8x SDB-II.

Re: the below I have had a perfectly wonderful time with Command and am telling all my friends about the sale. I have been a fan since back when it was called DB2K, but I didn't find out about Command until the past summer. I have been delighted with the direction you have taken the game and the improvements afforded by modern computers. Much more fun than watching my old P2-400 suffer grimly at the hands of H2AE!

Ok

Stop being annoying or I'll lock this thread until we're ready to deal with it. We've been putting up with this spergy nonsense for way to long.

The russians shoot a new missiles off and within twenty minutes we've got some bonehead asking why it isn't in the database yet.. Really???

Enough!

Mike

A good example this guy..

http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=3954644&mpage=1

Didn't crawl up our rearsides. Question our methods. Lecture us on what we should be doing and how we do it.

Just asked and somebody provided what we needed to implement. Acted like a couple of guys just trying to have fun with game and then thanks us for it like a good dude. He might even use it!

I hope you all understand where I'm coming from.

Thanks!

PS: I'm aware that the team is currently busy working on gameplay stuff rather than its database. Just dropping my requests here for future updates to come. I'm not expecting anybody to include this in the next update! Cheers!

I posted this with one of my recent requests. It is meant like I wrote it. Emsoy repeatedly informed the forum that work on the DB will be towned down/suspended for the next 3-4 months. Message received. I'm not posting my stuff with the thought in mind for anybody of the team to instantaneously deal with it. My laptop is likely to give up in the next weeks and I simply want to get my research off my hard drive and "upload" the results of hours of collecting links into the forum where they would serve an actual porpuse. Again, not expecting anything to be implemented in in the next couple of months...

[ADDED DB v443]

A few suggestions for some scenarios I am finally starting to build:

F-16V Viper

The F-16V Viper is an updated F-16 with the APG-83 AESA radar. Future operators may be the United States Air Force, Indonesian Air Force, Singapore Air Force, and Republic of Korea Air Force.

HV-22 Osrpey

The HV-22 Osprey is a replacement of the current United States Navy carrier onboard delivery aircraft. It will have a range of 1,150 miles with possibly the same sensors as the MV-22.

E-2D Hawkeye (Japan)

Japan ordered 4 E-2D Hawkeye aircraft in November 2014. It will more than likely have the same sensors as future United States Navy aircraft will have.

Great but this isn't a license to start raking us over the coals over some perceived "massive" error with Tarantul III's. Are you actually building a scenario to include them at this point including all the weapons test variants? There is an urgency and tone to your requests sometimes that doesn't equate to the actual problem. If you would relax a bit and just post what you want without all the extra commentary about 'twisted" errors etc. it would be much better.

Thank You.

Mike

I do have a requierement for the Project 1241.1M/MR, the modified R-60, the Ukrainian and the Vietnamnese vessel. As I already said there is no hurry at all. I'm waiting for some of the new gameplay features that will come with the next updates before publishing anything for Beta. It felt like a good time to dump my request in the DB pool for the team to take a closer look at some point in the future when works for another bigger DB update is being commenced again. In the same move I thought it was logical to report everything I observed for this class of vessels. In the end it's the game and all the other players who benefit from these observations. Anyways, I understand. I will cool it a bit from now on.

Anyways, I understand. I will cool it a bit from now on.

Appreciate it. Thanks

Mike

[ADDED DB v443]

quote:

ORIGINAL: mikmyk

ORIGINAL: B52H

Need sources, pictures etc. Some of these may have already been implemented in the newest db.

Thanks!

Mike

Updated our list to this point. We're on break for awhile from DB stuff to focus on the application itself.

Thanks!

Mike

Understood. I'll post more suggestions periodically, and I will try to include as much information as possible when I do, but I understand it may be a while before they are added. Thanks for considering them!

[NEED INFO]

Defense News reports OTH missile for LCS deployments in CY 2016. Would post link but can't post links yet, so have quoted relevant parts for DB3K:

quote:

WASHINGTON — The US Navy’s push to increase the lethality of the littoral combat ship (LCS) is getting a major and somewhat unexpected boost with word that an over-the-horizon (OTH) surface-to-surface missile will be installed on-board the next LCSs to deploy.
Rear Adm. Pete Fanta, director of surface warfare at the Pentagon, issued a directive on Sept. 17 calling for the installation of an unspecified OTH missile aboard the Freedom and the Coronado, the next two LCSs scheduled for deployment. The Freedom is to deploy to the Western Pacific during the first quarter of calendar year 2016, while the Coronado is to follow in the second or third quarter.
“The objective is to install the OTH missile system aboard all in-service LCS deploying to forward operating stations starting in fiscal year 2016,” Fanta wrote in the directive, “as well as on all under-construction LCS prior to their commissioning ceremonies.”
...
Fanta’s directive does not mention a specific missile, but it’s understood from sources that the missiles for the initial installations will be the Boeing Harpoon and Kongsberg Naval Strike Missile (NSM).
The idea, sources confirmed, is to try out both kinds of missile on both LCS variants, each ship deploying with only one model of missile installed.
...
Fanta’s directive, in fact, notes that “full integration with the LCS combat system is not required. A stand-alone console or computer terminal capable of consummating an engagement is sufficient for initial fielding.”
The directive, to the Program Executive Officer for Littoral Combat Ships (PEO LCS) and Program Executive Officer for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) at the Naval Sea Systems Command, calls for the installation of “the maximum number of missiles possible within the space, weight, power and cooling margins available. The initial design should be able to spiral to an eventual goal of eight missiles per ship.”

[UPDATED DB v443]

This isnt critical since the scenario that will use this unit wont be released until DB 441, but in 1.09 you added a number of Swedish Sonobouys which is great but it seems like the SH 89 doesn't have its sonobouys.

"Det har ytspaningsradar, FLIR (forward looking infrared radar), utrustning för fällning av sonarbojar samt utrustning för analys av den information som sänds tillbaka från bojarna. "
Translation: It has surface search radar, FLIR, equipment for dropping of sonobouys and equipment for analysis of information from the sonarbouys.

http://web.archive.org/web/20000226132118/http://www.hkpflj.mil.se/40/sh89.html (Web archive of a reallllly old version of the Swedish Armed Forces website.)

Thanks, Skjold.

Edit: removed the stuff with limited information and/or not so important to remove workload for you guys.

[UPDATED DB v442]

I am working on refining installations for Japan SAM sites (until 2015), I got all unit name and location, but I found out the unit inside DB need update.

In the installation folder, Japan 2013 is mixed with PAC-2 and PAC-3 batteries. However, in real life, they have the PAC-2 company (or squadon or firing unit, depending on translation) and PAC-2/3 mix company. No pure PAC-3 company existed yet.

The PAC2/3 mix company have 3X PAC-2 launcher and 2X PAC-3 launcher. Note Each PAC-3 launcher only have 4 missiles. They brought 124 PAC-3 missiles in first batch, and acquiring more to covert all 24 AA companies. That means each company will only have 8 PAC-3 missiles until all companies have PAC-3 (probably until 2018). I do not have information about how many PAC-2 missiles each company have. But 40X PAC-3 per company is definitive overestimation.

I just want to pipe in that I think its beyond amazing the support you guys provide. I can't imagine how many things have been added to the DB's since this first came out. And of course for the community for providing as much info as possible.

Fantastic support, guys. Most of them I'll never use but someone will or they wouldn't have asked :-) And it's nice to know it's all there to look at and learn about.

[SCENARIO DESIGN ISSUE?]

Started replaying Give them Hell tonight. I just observed that the aviation magazine of platform #1212 - CVN 65 Enterprise is missing its AIM-120C-5 stock and is filled with 160 AIM-120D instead. This is probably not correct, right?

[ADDED BLADDER DB v443]

Extended Range VLA

http://www.lockheedmartin.com/content/dam/lockheed/data/ms2/documents/launchers/Vertical_Launch_Antisubmarine_Missile_VLA_productcard.pdf

Also can we get the fuel cell loadout from the Marine MV-22 Osprey (5400kg Bladder) to be used on the SV-22 tanker loadout for the Navy.

No hurry.

Also let me say it one more time awesome job on the NI scenarios and the updates in general so happy with both my boxed version purchases of this incredible simulation.
