Finally sunk in to me that nobody wants to play the Germans unless they get all sorts of stuff to make it easy like mild winter and no Soviet bonus.

**** that. It's supposed to be nearly impossible for the Germans to win, because that's how it was in reality.

So I'll take on one or two Soviet opponents. Regular winter, regular Soviet bonus, full fog of war, Bitter End campaign. Open to whatever house rules you want.

Apparently this thing censors the word ****. We can talk about killing millions of people as a fun hobby, but we can't say **** when we do it.

Well its a family friendly forum. Sadly bad language is becoming more the norm in society with each passing year, but its nice to know that some places try and maintain a ban on certain words.

you give the soviet player all that you are probably in for a short game. Mild winter and no bonus really is fine for the current version of the game.

Regular winter, regular Soviet bonus.

Playing with these both options is too hard for the german player.

Wimps, sheesh.

I'm willing to take the German side under these conditions, and I think I can do at least as well as the Germans did historically.

No takers?

I play to the bitter end no matter what. Anyone who plays the Germans should be obligated to play to the end, since they started it.

That's fine!

Look at the server, I've created the challenge and sent to you the password.

Home rules (HR) can be discussed.

Any chance to see final positions?

And your analysis of the play, if you please.

I didn't take any picture as I knew as soon as turn 3 that I would win easily. And doing an AAR in such conditions has no interest.

He made basic mistakes such as grinding instead of piercing, lost time while moving his Pzg and wasn't focused on the right targets.

4th december, the front was Kherson-KrivoiRog-Sumy-Briansk-VK-Novgorod-Leningrad (safe). USSR OOB >6.5M

Game was over...

sounds like my last game against someone (who was also going to play to the end regardless). When I recaptured Brest-Litovsk on T3, it was pretty clear the game was going nowhere ... fortunately he disappeared complete with my T4.

serious word of advice, if you are learning the game play the Road to Smolensk a few times PBEM rather than assume you have to start with the full campaign. Its less of a time investment so if it all goes wrong much easier just to restart and try and incrementally work out what is going wrong. Takes a bit of practice to manage decent pockets and decent rail repair speeds.
