I am unclear on how the program reforms disrupted or disordered units. The game manual at one place says that the quality of the unit is the base used for the reform die roll, but elsewhere it says all units have a nominal reformation value of 1 plus 1 if a leader is present. There is also a reference to the command ratings used to determine whether a formed unit becomes disordered may also factor into reformation (i.e., passing down die roll modifiers from higher leaders in command range). Also, in the game, I may have 8 units disordered, but at the beginning of a new turn I get a message like "1 unit reformed out of 3 units checked." Why were not all 8 units checked.

It is clear that reforming a unit takes time. I get that. I am just curious about the algorithm.
