Your new Tojo group needs more training in Strafing to raise Defend skill and overall Experience skill. The Defend skill is important for pilot survivability.

Thanks ny59giants...those pilots are all being swapped out for frontline high experience pilots since the Tojo IIa is my best fighter. Still waiting on 10 more planes to fill out the squadron...

Here is a look at the potential A6M3 squadrons, only four. But we will convert all but the monster training squadron that Olorin made back in the HI.

First week of July...

Sees Vancouver heavily bombed...fires were really burning, but no strategic VP. Sigh.

Oscar IIa and Tojo IIa make their first combat appearances in India...no opposition.

Here, we take down a very good sized armored unit. Why in the world would Jocke expose them like this? I wish I knew what the AFVs were...starting war trash I suspect.

I had six squadrons of bombers hit Vancouver...and there were plenty of manpower hits, but the fires don't seem to destroy anything.

I am going to switch to Seattle in a couple of days and keep up a steady manpower attack in the hopes of eventually burning down some of those plane factories.

Hijinx in India...

The 8th Tank Rgt just arrived at Chitt adding to our woefully weak tank presence here.

Forts were level 3, now they are two after our first attack. 1-1 odds. Shouldn't be long, and a testimony to the importance of building forts.

50th, 254th, and 255th Armoured Brigades are the three big tank formations that you will face in India in '42. It will take until sometime in '43 before they all have upgraded to General Lee tanks. Add in the '43 Rifle squads and they become potent at just over 200 AV.

Almost all organized Allied troops in Luzon have surrendered. Only took two attacks here, better than I thought.

Could be an off-map convoy. I've never looked at where particular ingress/egress points are down that way.

As an AFB I probably shouldn't be divulging this to the Evil Empire, but convoys from Balboa to Auckland are typically about 8-10 hexes further north.

Can't speak for convoys to Auckland from Port Stanley or for convoys to Kiwi ports further south than Auckland.

Off map convoys enter the map at the "y" on map coordinate of their east/west travel destination hex.  That east/west destination hex may, or may not be, the final destination for that convoy.

Starting to see some use....my goodness, a size 30 factory eats 120 engines per month.

What a beast.

Here are the squadrons, that I have found with a quick tracker search that will upgrade to Rufe. Unfortunately, only two squadrons upgrade further to the Rex and a third squadron comes in mid 45. Not ideal, but I can live with the Rufe.

I plan on not converting my CS, but rather use them as FF platforms.

I plan on converting my BB into the CS hybrid and putting floats on them.

In other news my AKVs' are starting to exit the shipyards, I have 9 so far. In addition, I have converted 100 ships to carrying extra troops and I have also re-started some xak production of ships very close to completion.

The KB is spotted off eastern Oz, and the 100+ ships at Sydney start to flee. Unfortunately, our sub screen only got 1 ship but they are spotted fleeing to the southeast. The KB is 23 hexes away and closing on either the enemy rats fleeing or the industry in Oz.

Heed the warning I gave you in the other AAR.  You get the same strategic VPs from hitting industry covered by a small airfield as you do from a large airfield.  Enemy fighters should be expected flying CAP over Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne but not over the small towns.  Plus if striking where there are no enemy fighters, there might not be much flak present too.  Your bombing runs will be less degraded if not confronted by enemy fighters or flak.

Darn straight, Alfred, I learned my lesson.

Plus, flak is an absolute killer in this mod. I wonder if anyone has gotten to 44-45 and seen the effects of 12 cm guns on the Allied strategic bombing front. My guess, is that it will be much harder to farm VP from strategic bombing if Japan allocates the AA properly.

Allied Rats fleeing Sydney, run into Iboats pre-positioned. Lousy targeting, but again, as always I will take anything.

A very pretty sight. I will have the A6M3a this month, the A6M5 next month then onto the A6M5b subsequent models.

In addition, Tojo IIb advanced to 2/43 and the Oscar IIb advanced to 10/42 (13%). The IIb should start production this month, just in time to switch all the Oscar IIa production over to it. All four squadrons that upgrade to the IIa have been done, and I won't be making anymore of those fighters, but now focusing on the IIb later this month.

Jocke has seen some IIa both Oscar and Tojo in action.

First strikes at Oz...

We drop 38 Airacobra and 9 P40 for 24 Zeroes in action here and over on the West Coast. Kates bomb three locations in Oz, but get caught by American CAP over in Bremeton where the Allies put up around 300 planes CAP around Seattle.

So, pretty intense air combat day, and even with bomber losses I am happy with getting the Allied fighters into the air.

I have never messed much with automatic replacements for air groups before, but Olorin had it setup that way, and I haven't changed anything.

However, I get odd fragments showing up at major airbases all the time. Here a Nell squadron in the far west took replacements at Tokyo. A lot of the replacements form up at Singers too.

Is this works as design or something screwy I did?
