This scenario not only uses the BIG MAP, it also uses the editor limit of 14 hours for the duration of the fight. My last test ran 13 1/2 hours before shutting down.

Here is a screen shot of the game at around 13 hours of engagement time!!

Good Hunting.

Coming your way by the end of the week!!! Matrix should be making the announcement and the scenario available by tomorrow.

Merry Christmas to all of you and may you have good luck in your battles.

Unless, of course, you're playing me!!

Good Hunting.

Big Board Gaming posted a preview a couple of days ago, when you're going to upload this piece of art?

Matrix said it is to be released before they go on Holiday break. They go on break Friday.

Which means if they release it that you'll have it here in the US no later than noon on Friday.

If, for some unforeseen reason, Matrix doesn't release it by Friday we will upload it and make it available to you ourselves.

Good Hunting.

It's only on Matrix at the moment. The next update should see it on Steam.

That's what I've been told.

Good Hunting.

It's easy to install if you have the Steam version; just download it and unzip it into the proper scenarios directory.

Many thanks for this. Been really looking forward to a scenario, so I can play on this map. The map - as 'modded' by William - is absolutely superb. Just look at it:

And that's just a small part of it (and reduced quality, as a gif, so you can't really see the contours as you could if I could upload PNGs here). It's the best FCRS map there is in this grid format, I think. Really the real thing. Fantastic work, William. I seriously recommend this version of the map for anyone who hasn't tried it yet!

Can't wait to try the scenario on it. Thanks MR!

Peter

Thanks Peter! I hope you'll enjoy the scenario many times. This graphics variant is also my favourite, blending in topographic hints while still showing me the hexes and elevation steps where it matters.

This map (and all of the graphics variants for it) has been a great pleasure to create. As a map designer for a Cold War European theater game, I just needed to do 'Fulda Corridor' map. And do it big...
I also had the pleasure to spend a day in this area this Summer (including a visit to Point Alpha and its two museums).

William

Bssybeep, do you have the DLC loaded? The new scenario requires the Reforged DLC to run it.

Is this scenario available on Steam, or do you have to install it manually ?

[Just saw the post that mentions this. I'll wait for it to show up].

If you want it now, download and manually copy to your scenario folder. You must have the DLC for it to work.

Well the map I most prefer, William, is still the white 'paper' map (see below, a small detail from the full map), because it is the most naturalistic and, well, 'map-like'. Playing on that is like playing on a real map and hexes are banished! It's really beautiful. Great for immersion. It also more accurately gives an impression of the rolling nature of the actual landscape, where there are few sharp edges (as you'll know if you were there recently, of course). But you're right that the map with the ordinary hex edge 'contours' in as well is much easier to read in game terms - you can see the actual 'game elevations' really easily.

Plus, as I've said before, the 'paper' map does look a tiny bit like a winter map, if you're used to coloured game maps. Nevertheless, mostly I use the beautiful paper map. They're both great, and thanks again for your work on them. For me, at least, maps like this certainly take the game to a completely different level. I mean that image I've posted above says it all - playing on that map is like playing in reality. If you see what I mean.

I wish you had the time to do white paper maps for all the FCRS maps, or at least some of them!

Well, it's once again, Early Tuesday Morning!

Surprised nobody seems to have played this one yet.

There should be some comments about how it plays soon I would think.

Good Hunting.

I've just started it, but there isn't a whole lot of time right now, so I'll be slow. I can confirm that the huge map is, as you say, very 'jumpy'. It's better at 50%, as you recommend, but you need to get in closer to do stuff.
