6000Pts, medium map, 10/42, WC rules

The generator wanted to make this a fight in the desert and forced me to load up a random map of temperate terrain. It still got the better on me by making weather a sandstorm, and having vehicles leave dusttrails...oh well, this will prove to be interesting! Seems we are fighting on the dusty steppes of southern russia, or maybe in the canadian prairie?

Whereever, the battle begins with the crash of soviet 120mm mortars laying a withering hail on the canadian assembly areas. A Churchill I goes up in a ball of flame when a lucky shell tears through its top armour, while a dozen soldiers are shredded in the woods further north. Gears are engaged and engines roar as the Red Armour rushes towards the enemy line, leaving a huge cloud of dust in their wake...

The word reaches the front. Move out, For King and Country!

Our advance units get a good look at the enemy advance... tanks, and lots of them. That Ram II actually looks like it might be useful. we´ll have to destroy a few of them to get anywhere. The amount of dust rising into the air is just enormous, as is the amount of smoke laid down by the canadian 8" howitzers

Recce finds some Soviet armour. Those KV-1s look like a challenge for my Rams. I guess we'll find out how good Canadian made armour in WWII really was.

The communist pigs get to some V-Hexes early off. A MG team is on the recieving end of some Canuck bullets.:D

My Crazy Canucks press on dispite some Russian arty fire.

My glorious troops are pressing on all along the sector. The capitalist lackeys are dropping a veritable wall of smoke, testimony of their fear of the mighty russian tanks. A fear that is warranted, I may assure them ;)

We´ll see where this fight leads us!

Seems the oppressors of the people have brought the big guns to hunt the russian bear: Two batteries of 8inchers are pounding a certain central hill, and pulverisze a Dshk HMG stationed there. We take it with a shrug and continue our charge towards forward postions. Those comrades will soon have a memorial erected for them by the grateful people of the Soviet Republics of Canada :p ;) :p

Our heroic forces report the detruction of two Daimler MkIs. I come within millimetres (literally) of getting my first Ram II, but this will have to wait another turn.

Seems that we move a little faster than the canadian farmboys on their tractors ;)

Shell after shell is fired at the onrushing canadian tanks, yet little damage is done.

Well, one Deacon destroyed and another disarmed, but I had been hoping for much more...

Oh, and one of the 8" tubes malfunctioned:D

Tried hitting the Soviet armour with my Ram IIs to the "clang" sound of the shell bouncing off them. Looks like I scared the commanders into buttoning up though :D

One 8" cannon down? Not to worry theres more where that came from. We canuckleheads like our arty :D

At least we are counting on it, as our fire continues to be a bit...indecisive!

Comrades, those Canadians sure can take hit... or ten ... my BT-7s rained AP at range 1 on a Ram II, from all sides, and still it took a T-34 to damage the **** thing.

They have also begun to drop a full screen of smoke on the approaches to our positions, and we expect an assault anytime now.

**** Sandstorm makes movement really slow, my KVs are crawling into position...at least they were firing this turn!

The tanacious Canadian Infantry successfully assault and destroys a BT-7M.:)

One of my Mighty Ram IIs gets it's first armour kill in the form of another BT-7M:cool:

Bounced some more AP off of 2 KV-1s, knocking off the hitchikers that were on them.:D

More klonk-klonks.

Though I´m getting pretty good at shooting Deacons, they die rather easily and I presume there are few left. The enemy assault on our positions is taking some time, the candians are as handicapped in the blowing sands as we are...

I got a BT-7M with a Churchill I? Cool!:)

Still bouncing rounds from the Ram IIs off of those T-38s though. Looks like the two armoured forces will have to clash in the fury of close quarter combat.

My 8 inch arty is having some effect with 2 KV-1Es retreating.:D

All along the front, but especially in the south the Canadians are rushing forward. We meet them with steel... and fire! Our OT-34 flame tanks make a push towards the canadian front elements, and torch a Ram. All around, AP flies, smashing a Ram II, damaging others. The enemy might be gaining ground, but we extract a high toll. We´ll see when their formations break and flee...

In our backyard, infiltrators are spotted, and taken under fire. We are preared for such a situation, and will quickly deal with this threat...

A brief lull in the terrible bombarment by the canadian 8" batteries provides us with an opportunity to counterattack, whcih results in the destruction of at least two Ram IIs and damage to several others and a Churchill. Canadina infantry in the northern forest finds their given task of fighting soviet armour while under mortar fire a bit too much and turns to flee after a few encouraging bursts of MG fire...:p

In our backyard, we destroy a Commando squad and chase another over an open field, nearby truck drivers pulling up to the fleeing infiltrators and firing their pistols at the enemy:eek:

My Rams start to go up almost as fast as M4's. :D While the Churchills are finally making to the front and joining in!:)

The infantry in the north is encountering some resistance and will have to regroup, reform and retaliate.

My infiltrators are seend well to easily and get wasted before they can make a difference. :( Doesn't hurt to have some limited intel though.:)

Thankfully I´m getting the hang on how to destroy the canadian tanks. The Churchills are well-armed and well-armoured, but nothing can stop my concerted actions...or at least the burning vodka bottles my Cavalry smashes on the enemy tanks!

Two Churchills aflame, several Rams destroyed or heavily damaged, I am getting optimistic about my chances. In the distance, we see armoured reinforcements coming. When these reach the front, they´ll have to advance past the burning wreckage of the first wave, always an encouraging sight:D

In the north, we continue to pick away at the infantry. A dozen men lie dead, many more flee.:p

Seems that Canadian Infantry still had lots to learn in '42 as the Russian horde keeps pushing it back:(

As for that Canadian armour, most of the Rams are coming back from near death and those Churchills are starting to make a difference. Time can only tell.

Tha Canadian 8" Howitzers are finally coming in on the Soviet rear echelon. Hopefully this will hurt those Ivans.:D

Seems we messed up the turn numbers, and jumped over number 11. .. :D

Anyway, fierce fighting all along the line, a few more shot-up tincans and routed infantry. The enemy 8" guns are back into play, and kill some troops all around. Three batteries are bound to do that, but we will endure and prevail!

Despite the canadian posturing, their attack in the south has been defeated. Numerous tanks are burning, the infantry scattered. Those Ram IIs might be tough, but we will continue to shoot off guns and tracks if we can´t penetrate their hides.

And the 8" have been firing for a long time now. Already the enemy is conserving ammo by shooting only single barrels. Too bad a lowly 25Pdr got lucky and popped a flametank:mad:

Hah! Faith is stronger than steel, and we shall endure!
