Hey guys, happy Near year!

I'm playing WitW, the 43-45 Campaign. I'm running the latest code.

I'm trying to invade Normandy and I have 3 airborne divs set to land in hexes 75-195, 76-195 and 77-195, 2-3 hexes behind the normandy beach and appears to be bocage. When I click the Drop button, I get a message "Not a valid airborne target hex". this is more or less where the 82nd, 101st landed historically. Am I doing something wrong? I've pulled off numerous successful airborne assaults in Italy so not sure what I could be doing wrong.

Thanks!

I didn't see anything in the manual or the forums about this message.

Target hex needs to be adjacent to amphib invasion hex. See player's handbook, section 7

Three reasons for the message.

The hex is farther then 8 hexes from a supplied friendly unit.
The hex is not adjacent to an invasion (planned) hex.
The hex is a mountain hex (or I suppose an impassable hex)

RULE: 17.3.9

Land your Amphib first, then perform airdrop, opposite to IRL.

Ummm...no. Plan invasion. Plan airdrop.

Launch invasion (which doesn't actually execute on your turn). Drop Paratrooper.

Paratrooper drops first...then invasion occurs. The paratrooper (and any other adjacent units) make it easier for the invasion to win.

Ok, now I understand. I was trying to drop the troops before I actually hit invade on my amphib units. once I do that, the drops can commence.

Thanks
