I'm not clear on how to use the various ship tenders, i.e. sub, destroyer, minefield and aircraft. I'm only into day 4 of a USA campaign but haven't done anything with them yet. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks J_S....a very helpful/useful link. I've read the manual but there is just some much to it (300+) pages it left my head spinning.

Long learning curve, expect a few months to get the basics.

Manual is really important

There a couple of things not discussed in that thread, to wit: Minefield tenders that refuse to maintain their own minefields are called chicken tenders. Minefield tenders that attempt to back out of their own minefield, but back into one anyway are called chicken McNuggets.

J_S....A question regarding the link. The AS and AD details state a few time to 'anchor' the tender. Not sure what this means? Are all ships in a port and not in a task force considered anchored? Would a tender in a TF that is 'docked' in a port be considered anchored? Thanks, Ray

anchor the tender means "disband" the ship. a docked TF is not anchored

don't forget to keep them with supply on board

I find this guide enormously useful:

Thanks for the replies...helps a lot. The game is like a black hole; it just sucks you in. And I say that as a good thing!
