My first encounter with WitE was when the original game came out and I played for around a year before moving on. This weekend, after a looong sojourn, I have bought the game again and I am having a lot of fun learning things and playing around. It has changed a lot, all of it for the good

I am struggling to find out one thing. It is probably staring me in the face, but there is a lot of documentation - manual, tutorial, unoffical tutorial etc etc, that explains an awful lot, but I cannot find this one thing.

The numbers on the counters. For friendly forces these are the combat value and the movement points. What are they for on enemy counters? Combat value and defence value? And what, please, is the significance, of the '=' between the numbers instead of the '-' .

A very basic question, I know, but it is frustrating the hell out of me.

TIA

Chris

First number is always the Attack CV of the unit.

When X-Y, -Y indicates the number of number of MPs left to the unit.

When X=Y, =Y indicates an estimation of the aggregated Defence CV of the units present in the Hex.

10-50 will be assault -move
3=8 assault defense
if you make Z or Shift Z (can't rememmber) your units will look with = too

Please ask more questions!

Although played a lot, have forgotten a lot and questions are helpful.

rail repair works 2 ways:
- automatically with rail repair units attached to HQ
- manually with FBD for germans or NKPS for russians => set FBD on a destroyed rail hex next to another rail already working Right click and repair, move to the next rail rail hex, right click and repair....
