My game has started dragging really badly. I never had issues with large scenarios before - scenarios like Brass Drum or even some of Bart's larger Northern Fury scenarios ran fine. After 1.092, not so much.

I just tried Gunner98s Northern Fury 9.7 Sub Surge. When the sonobuoy count increase the total unit count to ~1000, the time acceleration becomes virtually worthless at anything above 5 to 1. The game has never run that slowly before - even in scenarios with relatively high unit counts. 1000 units used to be no issue.

Here's the system.

Win 7 Pro 64bit 6.1 Build 7601
Intel i7-3770K CPU @ 3.50 GHz
Crucial Ballistix Elite 16GB (2 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1866 (PC3 14900)
GeForce GTX 680 - 4095 MB
Samsung P2370 1920x1080
C: Crucial M4 128GB SSD Sata3
D: Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB HD 7200 Sata3

Game has been updated to v1.092; is installed on D drive (and there's no room to move the game to C: pending Win10 installation) and is running an updated version of a retail disc install (not Steam)
I always run the game with nothing else running in background; no browsers or anything else.
All of the pre-reqs are in the pre-req folder
dotnetfx35setup.exe
dotNetFx40_Full_x86_x64.exe
dotNetFx45_Full_setup.exe
vcredist_x86.exe
plus the redist folder which is directx_June2010_redist (which contains a whole slew of .cab files)

Disk fragmentation (D: drive) is 5%

DxDiag files attached (I ran the dxdiag in regular and 64 bit mode so both are included)

Any help would be appreciated.

Had the same Problem first.
For me it helped unticking the new option "Allow switching to High- Performance power scheme"
found under Game-> Game Options-> Gerneral-tab-> last entry.

After this i restarted the game.

//edit: oh sry, you are running game v1.092. Neverless it maybe help others whose windows-power profile is optimized already.

Hello,

Can you please try the same setup under v1.10 RC1 and tell us if the issue is persisting?

Thanks.

updating to a later driver will or could help

Driver Date/Size: 2/25/2013 for video

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/download/driverResults.aspx/96918/en-uk

4/17/2012 for sound

my opinion, and it's mine from a pure gaming background, but have also 30 years pc tech work as well is.

install windows 10 for free, then once it's installed and says it's registered etc, download a fresh install of windows 10 pro 64bit and install on the thumb drive and wipe the pc.

and reisntall again but this time as you already have done the upgrade, you now will have your hardware registered on M/S server so can do a fresh install on the same hardware and don't need a install key.

a fresh install is always better than a upgrade one, with the upgrade not everything will work anyway so some will still need to be installed, a fresh install fixes all and sorted everything out, then again it's only my opinion

your pc spec will be more than high enough for the game and will work much better, yes a larger SDD at a later date would be nice so in future you don't run out of space, as it will always be faster than a HDD and better for refresh rate in games so is a weak point in your system atm to use the HDD, but by how much is a mute point atm...

but free advice

Thanks for the tips zakblood.

Yes the driver update is long overdue but the game ran fine on the current drivers up to v1.08 when the performance started sliding, and it got worse with v1.09. But I'll give it a shot and let you know.

A second SSD has been in the plans for a while so maybe it's just time to bite the bullet.

How to get a DxDiag report file:

1. Click on "START" (on Windows 8 press “Windows key” and the “R” key at the same time)
2. Click "run" (skip this step on Windows 8)
3. Type in "dxdiag" and click "OK"
4. Check through the tabs and perform all tests
5. Click "Save all Information..." and save the text file to a location of your choice

We prefer that DxDiag files be posted as message attachments rather than pasted into the body of the post.

a report is also handy as it gives a chance to see the whole system spec so can form a better opinion on your system and any errors.

while i can tell from your screen shot windows 10 anyway, and a Nvidia card used, i don't have any or enough details or others here wont have to do more than guess a reply or solution / offer advice etc

Same same here. I noticed that the interface reacts in a bit uneasy manner with some visible slowdowns like it was getting busy with some serious digital thinking most of the time. Nothing really serious so far, but as a matter of fact I am not playing anything serious these days so those were mainly some few-minute check-ups after having the patches applied and other stuff updated (databases, descriptions etc.)yet it was already felt and visible in plain sight so I guess the situation won't look bright once I get back to it.

are you both running the program in admin mode?

as that give the program more time before the system thinks the games hung if the AI or program is thinking or doing something which can alter it from a crash to a system hang / hung

I tried it as well, but in editor mode, and switch to hostile's side to check the missile intercepting. I also opened the Task Manager to see its CPU and RAM use.

Grizzly is no longer functioning once Tomahawks are very close to the SAM site in less than 10 nm, memory use surged from 600MB to nearly 900MB rather quickly, until it crashed.

You're welcome.

Let me test a couple of more scenarios and check out the CPU usage as well. I'll let you know if I find anything.

And thanks for the response.

Since I have been on both Win7 and 8 for up to three years now I install and launch software with admin privileges as a rule of thumb. It also helps not to activate my AV software overzealous awareness.

Yes, I'm running Command as admin. Hope this helps!

(EDIT: I'd appreciate if you could delete this attachment as soon as you got all the necessary informations!)

i don't have the ability, needs someone higher up than me i'm sorry to say.

have asked for it to be removed, not sure how long it will take, thanks.

regarding feedback on it,

spec and drivers are 100% fine

DirectX Version: 12, so as long as you have installed all the pre requisite that came with the game, it should work fine, so if it doesn't,

run as admin, add game exe to AV and firewall, your using NVIDIA which is up to date, but can if altered act up with some games, have you manually altered it? if so try and set to default and re try, and see if problem has gone away, stayed the same or got worse?

my German isn't great tbh so most is though translator while reading it, but some errors are with, it seems anyway that the game has been installed on a different drive?

does it cause the same issues on C?

as the game writes it's temp files to the C drive while installed elsewhere, if admin permissions are given to the game exe on your installation drive it may or may not still have admin permissions once temp file are wrote by default to the C drive.

only a impression as i can't see or read anything else that looks out of place or wrong from the error log

Thanks for the fast response!

Yes, I installed both pro requisite when I was asked to to so during installation. Just added Command.exe to my Firewall. Will see if that changes anything. I haven't altered anything regarding my drivers, at least not deliberatly. Where can I find options for default settings? Yes, all my games are installed on my HDD (F). Didn't knew that temporary files are still writen on C. I can try to install my game on the C drive but just a quick heads up, I did not experience these problems with previous builds while Command was installed on F.

ok, it maybe the new build then, so will wait and see what developers and forum mods see of it, remove your own link now if you wish and if they need it, they can ask for it, i'd try C drive and see while waiting for them to reply and see if that makes any difference, for me it's a much better drive and i would have all my game in use on it.

they will look at the files you uploaded and reply now, thanks

No. The problem is solved for me in B757.12 (v1.092) without using the RC775.11 build.

I uninstalled the game, cleaned up and defragged the D: drive, and re-installed the game. And it is running great.

I'm can run at max time compressions of 30mins (1800x) at pulse rates of 12 - 24ms with unit counts near 1000. No issues at all now.
