Working on this scenario and I need a place to write out my thoughts :) And if anyone wants to contribute feel free.

Club Med:

Background:

Syria has been undergoing a civil war since 2011. Every year has witnessed more territory lost by the government and more chaos in the country with more foreign born radicals entering the country to wage jihad against the Syrian government. While territory is lost by the government former locations of functioning air defences and airfields have been put out of action-limiting Syria's defence capability. As a result Syria has signed a secret deal with Russia, allowing the latter to station air assets unconditionally at Bassel Assad Airport, outside Latakia, indefinitely. Rebels have been able to capture cold war era tanks such as the T-54 and T-55 and several IFVs. During the fight between the rebels and the government, ISIL has been able to plant itself firmly in Syria's east, capturing Raqqa, beseiging Deir-Ez-Zor AB, capturing the Tishreen Dam and moving closer to Aleppo. With recent Kurdish advances against ISIL, with help from US airstrikes, the Kurds have been able to capture the dam intact.

However, the recent chemical attack by the Syrian government and the recent show of force by Russia in the Middle East, has proved too much for the US administration to remain silent and has secretly entered an agreement with Turkey France and the UK to act. Germany and other NATO members are not included and this is a not a NATO operation.

Who to expect on the ground:
Syrian Armed Forces, Syrian Rebels, Russian S-400 defence systems, ISIL, UK Special Forces, US Special Forces, Kurdish Militias, Civilians

Who to expect in the air:
Russia, United States, United Kingdom, France and Syria. Along with minors (Hezbollah, NDF, Rebels) using homemade UAVs

Who to expect in the water:
United States, Russia, France, Civilians

Playable Sides:

Russia---US/UK/France---Syria

Each side has their own differing objectives and will push the player, regardless of the side chosen, to inadvertently crash into the other sides, hence escalating the situation further.
------------------

I do need some help finding the complete composition of the Russian ships in Syrian waters, so if anyone has a reference, please feel free to add here. Russian Air Force assets are complete at Bassel Assad Airport

Assets in place. Just need to write the events and several other things I'd like to replicate within the simulation including political events and consequences. I've decided to remove France from the scenario. Here are the side briefings.

US/UK:
Intelligence Breifing:

Recent analysis from satellite imagery have concluded Syria's SAM umbrella network have been weakend. With the collapse of government authority in the south bordering Jordan and Israel, and in the east and northeast bordering Iraq and Turkey you can expect little to no resitence from the ground for any flight package. However, despite rebel gains in the Damascus countryside, approach to and in Damascus is still covered, albeit weakend. With this in mind, Russia has its fully operational SA-21 Growler (S-400) stationed outside of Bassel Assad AB in Latakia province. Russia has set a full house of machinery at Bassel Assad AB and stocked it with the top line, unproven planes. Expect everything from the Su-24 to the Su-35 with the occasional Mi supporting Syrian Armored formations. Syria has recently taken delivery of the MiG-31 in lieu of replacing its aging MiG-25. Syria still has a limited amount of MiG-25. Syria has also recently provide escort duty with its squadron of Mig-29 for Russian bombers operating out of Lattakia. SEALS are currently securing the landing strip in northeast Sryia, Rmeilan AB. This will provide a future jump point for further operations in the area once the AB becomes operational (note: not in this scenario). Make sure they are protected from anyone that poses a threat to the two teams. Your forces do not have a 'no fly zone'. You're free to fly throughout the AO. Russia has also stationed three surface ships providing support operations off the coast of Latakia.

Your objectives:

1-Locate, identify and destroy ISIL targets. Do not engage the PYD/YPG (Kurdish Milita) or Syrian Rebel targets
2-Defend our Special Forces teams in north east Syria against anyone attempting to locate them
3-Destroy the Syrian Ministry of Defence located in Damascus.
4-Destroy the Radio/TV building in Damascus

Do not engage the Russian armed forces unless attacked. If you're attacked, take out as many of them as possible. Weapons free against Syrian land and air targets once identified.

Your assets:

CVN-75 Harry Truman (Strike Group 10)

12xF/A-18E
12xMH-60S
12xMH-60R
10xF/A-18C
4xEA-18G
12xF/A-18F
10xF/A-18C
4xE-2C

RAF Akrotiri:

12xTyphoon FGR
12xTornado GR.4A

Kharikir Airport (Southern Saudi Arabia):

2xRQ-4B

Incirlik AB:

12xA-10C
3xKC-135R
2xEC-130H
2xE-3G
2xRQ-1B
2xRQ-170
12xF-22A

Warning: THE AIR OVER SYRIA WILL BE CROWDED

-----------------
Russia:

Intelligence Breifing:

With our operations against Syrian rebels by our forces from Lattakia and the Syrian government finally gaining the momentum, in co-operation with Hezbollah, the Syrian government is preparing for a push to cut off Aleppo and its countryside from Turkey. Continue the onslaught against these rebels. Do not engage the PYD (Kurdish Militia), consider ISIS as secondary and only when necessary. The United States has dispatched the CVN-75 Harry S. Truman to the eastern Med in November 2015 and is expected on station shortly. Do not engage the Americans unless attacked. Do not fly over Turkish airspace. However expect an escalation from the Turks. The Syrians have agreed to ensure our pakages are delivered to the rebels by flying patrols throughout their country. Syrian intelligence believes that Turkey, with Saudi funding, are in the process of finalizing several shipments of MANPADs, origin unknown and not verified.

Primary Objective:

Locate, identify and destroy as many Syrian Rebels and ISIL and Chechen Rebels targets as possible. Do not engage the Kurdish Militias.

Secondary Objectives:

1-Locate identify and destroy as many ISIL targets as possible in Syria. You do not have authorization to hunt ISIL targets in Iraq. The US forces will also be looking for ISIL targets in Syria and Iraq so the air could be crowded.

2-Protect your assets at Bassel Assad AB

3-Protect your fleet off the Syrain coast.

At your disposal:

Mozdok AB:

1xA-50
1xA-50U
14xTu-22M-3M
8xSu-34
4xSu-27SM2/3

Bassel Assad Airport:

12xSu-25SM
8xSu-34
4xSearcher II UAV
8xSu24-M
2xSu24-M2
4xSu-30SM
4xSu-35S
4xKa-52
12xMi-24P

Surface Fleet:

Group 3723:

Varyag (Moskva, Guided Missile Cruiser)
Vice-Admiral Kulakov (Udaloy, Guided Missile Destroyer)
Pytlivy (Krivak II, Guided Missile Frigate)

WARNING: DO NOT FLY OVER TURKISH TERRITORY.

-------------------
Syria:
Intellegince:

According to the the Syrian Ambassador to the UN, an American carrier is en route and the American administration is increasing its rhetoric against President Bashar Assad. We don't expect the Americans would violate Syrian airspace yet ensure no on violates Syrian airspace. We've received word through our informants that the Turks and the Saudis have agreed on supplying the rebels with MANPADs. A victory over ISIL in Deir Ez Zor is necessary for morale.

Primary Objective:

Destroy anything threatening the government. Your targets include but not limited to:

1-Syrian Rebels
2-ISIL
3-Kurdish Militias
4-Chechen Jihadists

Secondary Objectives:

1-Paradrop troops at Deir-Ez Zor Airport who are currently under seige by ISIL forces
2-Secure the integrity of Syrian airspace. Do no let anyone other than Russian planes fly in and out of Syrian airspace.
3-Provide support and protection through CAPs for any Russian operations against terrorists, rebels, etc.

Your assets:

Damascus Mezze AB:

12xMi-8T
8xMiG-25RB
12xMiG-29M2
6xMi-25

Damascus Int'l Airport:

1xIl-76M

Saiqal AB:

6xSu-22M-4k
12xSu-24MK2

Hama AB:

4xMiG-31BM

Syrian Army positions are located in Aleppo and those besieged in Deir-Ez-Zor.
--------------------

Any thoughts?

I'm figuring I still need 2 more days before I can release it for Beta testing....

There are 8 Su34s in Syria, on the last photo 2 are on a missions, but on earlier ones there were 8. Also in Mozdok AB there another 8 Su34, 4 Su27SM and 14 Tu22M3 flying sorties through Iran and Iraq. Besides the S400 there are also 4 PantsirS1 and Krasuha4 jammer. Also I doubt the Raptors have place there unless you plan a shooting ground for them.

I used this as a reference. I can't post links, but google "upi undisclosed f-22" Not sure if they're at Incirlik, but its the most plausible location. They could be based out of Jordan though.

*removed F-15c from Incirlik (returned to their home bases in December)
*removed AC-130U from Incirlik (never there)
*adjusted UAV count and assortment at Incirlik
*adjusted Su-34 count in Syria
*added Russian air assets at Mozdock AB
*added additional SAMs in Latakia province
*adjusted Russian briefing to allow Air Force flyover permission in Iraq
*currently not looking to add Russian fleet in Caspian

I'm adding Turkey to the formula (not playable). Only at the brainstorming stage though and will get a better picture before beta.

Thanks for the help, by the way!

Regarding Turkey, does anyone know if the AI can share the Incirlik AB with the US in CMANO? I loaded up Incirlik for the AI Turkey and it added the planes to the US roster when I switched sided to US...it doesn't show as a separate Turkish roster despite adding F-16s for Turkish control...

I think you can't, but there might be some Lua tricks. It will be better to use another airbase for the turkish air forces. They don't base their F-4s and F-16s in Incirlik anyway, only tankers are there. I did my research while developing 3 days long full scale war scenario between Russian and Turkey (limit for Russia to stop or NATO will join). Just after placing most of the stuff I realised this is too large scale and I'm not up to the job to program all the events for the AI. After all ~250 planes for Turkey and ~150 for Russia (Syria+Crimea bases+Armenia base+Caucasus bases) + few fleets + the radar and SAMs for both sides + Bastions and Bals for russia + ground forces (syrian army, rebels, turkish army, isis) ... and it got way too big scale :D

Anyway sorry for the off topic. About the F 22s there are 6 deployed in Al Dhafra, UAE (not the first time there). Also if there won't be high value land targets you don't need the Caspian fleet as it can only launch 20-30 cruise missiles.

I thought I read it somewhere in the manual earlier today when I was at work that they can share. Can't find it anymore. But since they don't base their jets at Incirlik then its moot.

No problem about the F-22. I am trying to get it as accurate as possible for the simulation. I'm assuming per story line of this scenario that the US would station a squadron of F-22's from Europe to Incirlik.

Regarding the Caspian Fleet involved, I'll add them if the air assets can't handle the ground targets in scenario. There are quite a few. If the scenario goes well enough and CPU performance is good across the board, I could add some buildings in rebel territory and designate them 'Command buildings for the Syrian Rebels'.

*adjusted Russian Air assets in Syria (had the wrong Frogfoots on station and wrong Fencers)
*added Thin Skin, Spoon Rest and Flat Face radars at Lattakia AB for Russia (they're there)
*adjusted model of IL-76 for the Syrians

Interestingly, the Database doesn't have Turkey's Koral system. It reads like a counter to the S-400 radar system.

I'm finishing up Turkey and I'll have the events and triggers to write up; set up each sides payloads and all the other small stuff and then I'll take her for a spin.
If everything looks ok, I'll release Beta for anyone that's interested. More than likely Beta this weekend.

edit: found it, page 91 in the manual...if friendly posture, they share contact information and facilities...?

I think you can, both allied and own side AC will show up which is a bit awkward at times. Its been a while but I don't think there is any difference in the F6 Air Ops window to indicate which is which. You can only adjust the loadout, launch and assign missions to your own however.

Yea, Incirlik right now is looking busy with all those assets. I found 2 AB I can use in south east Turkey with their accurate wings (F-16 Block 50s). The other AB is actually used for a UAV base. How convenient for this scenario :)

Can anyone help me understand why I can't package the scenario for distribution? Or is there another way to get the scenario to everyone?

You can upload a zip file so just put the scenario file in a zip and that should work
