Good day.

While we continue to work on the game, a preliminary question to our potential customers.

What kind of scenarios or campaigns would you like to see included? What would you like to do? What would you like to see?

Thank you.

Jason Petho

Hey Jason

That's a great Question!!

A campaign on the fighting around Kasan(sp) for sure. Maybe a few scenarios or a campaign on the TET offensive 1968. Need some late war scenarios too say after 1971-72 as the USA was pulling out.
I know little about it, but the French were also involved early on in Indochina late '50's early '60's I think? A couple of scenarios from that period would be a plus.

Thanks
Big Ivan

Ripcord would be a hoot to play. I assume you read Nolans book Ace?

Hamburger hill or Hill 937 to be exact;).....

Dak To

Dong Ha

Hue of course...

Khe Sanh Ivan;) Nice large map incl. the sppting FB's along route 1, Camp Carroll, Con Thien etc etc...

Oh and Lam Song 719..

French? The Defense of Na Son (PA8)...and great big beautiful Dien Bien Phu naturally, with all of the strong points PLUS extra beer rations for programming the French ( well, Germans)singing as they climb the slope to Elaine 2...

I cant imagine the team hasn't looked this over for inspiration-

also, I'd just like to hear your ideas for how you'll balance VC/NVA movement and camouflage advantages, elite Sappers etc......just interested.

Improved movement for VC/NVA will be incorporated.

As well as a commando style movement for special platoons.

Khe sahn as a scenario and as a linked campaign and maybe what-if elements. Chinese intervention as a what-if and air cav(helo) scenarios with gunship support.

thx jason. i had posted on your facebook page too on unit pics and tunes for the game. i know I may have asked it for Middle east but here goes again. Any chance on actual soldier pics and units black and white for the units like in campaign ww2. Also, folk music or tunes besides the main background music as in the ww2 one? Maybe 60's music as backfround, say Paint it black from the Stones and other groups from the 60's for us side. The VC and communists could have nationalistic tunes during scenarios. i would think the US side would rock.

As I mentioned in the Facebook message.

We probably will not include actual pictures of leaders, as many are still alive and there are legal ramifications of doing so. We include historical units though, including historical battles.

Of course, the leader BMP's will be fully moddable, so if you wanted to add them, you would be able to.

Same with the vehicle/other platoon BMP's. While the capabilities are there, we will not be including them in the official release due to copyright issues. One is still able to add their own image pictures though and they will eventually be available as an unofficial mod in the future.

For the start of Khe sanh siege, the massive bombing by the Americans with arty support could be a scenario in itself with air power as key to driving the cong and NVA elements from their perches ringing the base. the us would have to knock out some objective hexes for a win. The vc side would simply have to reinforce and hold depending on the number of turns in the scenario and disruption in the hexes.

Here's an idea for the Khe sanh scenario though not in detail but for the VC side you would have this: On 19 June 1968, another operation began at Khe Sanh, Operation Charlie, the final evacuation and destruction of the Khe Sanh Combat Base. The Marines withdrew all salvageable material and destroyed everything else. The NVA continued shelling the base, and on 1 July launched a company-sized infantry attack against its perimeter. On 9 July 1968, the flag of the Viet Cong was set up at Ta Con (Khe Sanh) airfield. On 13 July 1968, Ho Chi Minh sent a message to the soldiers of the Route 9–Khe Sanh Front affirming their victory at Khe Sanh. It was the first time in the war that the Americans abandoned a major combat base because of enemy pressure.[32]

The US side would concentrate on the evacuation around that date making sure enough men adn material escape as well as keeping the lz occupied till the last helo leaves.

There is no way that we, a small development studio, can afford to license use of 60s Era rock classics in our commercial, but niche market, war game. Without seeking permission, without our paying up (exhausting our limited profits and more), the record companies and the performers would sic their lawyers on us for sure.

Or we can mod it, just unofficially.

As Berto eluded to, we're not a big developer with massive financial backing that allows us to freely purchase rights to use whatever we wish. We have to be conscious of royalties, etc.
