Seemed to download and install ok, but when I go to run it, this is the screen I see. Nothing happens, only ... darkness.

It won't be easy to help. Your system (Windows XP) is no longer supported... Maybe something with video/audio drivers, codecs or DirectX is amiss.

What I did. I deleted WITE off my machine, and reinstalled version 1.00. Once that was running ok, I went ahead and installed the 1.08.07 version. And, ta-da, I'm back fighting on the Eastern Front.
