I have found out that it's no longer possible for me to manually coordinate my fighters offensively anymore on this small scale map and thus the AI, for the first time, has an definitive edge over me in air combat. I also tend to use my forces sparely and in smaller batches and thus the AI could overwhelm me with an everlasting swarm of MIG-21’s and other fighters. So in order to win this scenario I’ll have to, for the first time, let the AI fight my air combat for me. After I have neutralized the USSR long range SAM sites with an all-out low altitude high speed weasel strike, I’ll mass all my fighters individually into one big cloud of death on a intercept mission and extend the patrol execution zone to overlap the USSR patrol waypoints and let it rip. This will hopefully let me destroy enough USSR AC to push through an anti-shipping strike later on.
