Hello Peter,

Again...playing the game and really enjoying it, and thank you for all the work you've put into this. I would suggest making an easy fix to the Waffen-SS troops...instead of Waffen-$$, which of course is the dollar sign for American money.

I recall that in the original Squad Leader game the counters were marked "Broke" instead of "Broken", which led some wits to comment that these troops had lost all their money. In the case of TOTH, it appears the Waffen squads are flush with American cash! :)

Not a big deal...in fact I've already fixed my copy of the .exe file in a hex editor, took me about two minutes to find all the Waffen references. And no, I haven't touched anything else in the .exe file except changing the $$ to SS, and it runs like clockwork.

I was curious as to why the $ were used, I figured it was an issue with the engine and not a design choice. I'm actually using a custom graphic file and having the SS units in black.

Actually this brings up a bit of a question. Do the SS units receive any benefits behind the scenes? Such as the British Elite/1st Line not cowering when firing without a leader.

I've followed your example and done the same as you. It seems to have worked perfectly well without any problems to date.

Well Waffen SS runes are not legal in Germany, this was publisher request so $$ were used instead.

Waffen SS units have higher morale and they also benefit from having Assault Fire capability.

The basic letters 'SS' are NOT runes, so maybe switch it to letters instead of American currency symbols. Does the publisher know how many Americans buy this game who might not like this idea?

I love the game, but not the request by the publisher on that one, sorry!
