New user question.. I can't seem to be able to assign a ship to a home base. I select a port facility with a dock but it doesn't take. I am able to assign aircraft to homebases.

When a ship runs low on fuel I'd like it to return to port like an aircraft would. Also is there any other reason why you might assign a ship to a home base?

Thanks.

Right-clicking on the ship, then "Select Home Base" and clicking on the pier doesn't work?

It's probably because the pier size is too small for the ship. I've tried Brother against Brother scenario, and couldn't assign the ships to the base until I manually added larger pier.

This is (once again...) why savegames are important!

So I have tried "Select new home base" with different combinations of ships and piers and still not having any luck. I even tried the Brother against Brother scenario and added a larger pier but the "assigned base" never changes from "none"

Is there another scenario that you know to be working? I'm finding most scenarios have air bases and few with naval bases and piers. thanks.

Ok thanks. Do you know how the logic is set up? Will it RTB a ship at a bingo fuel similar to aircraft?

Dimitris knows this best, think you set the fuel state in the new Pier Ops tab in the doctrine window.
