Is the nasty nasty AI updated too? That would be nice. My current AI has committed suicide. I played aggressively and by October 42 it's game over. It was not one of Andy's modifications....GP

Scen 100, Pearl Harbor attack.

Was this changed as well? The Dec 7 raid was different from all other raids I have seen so far. The AI explicitly targeted BBs,DDs, with a few hits on CAs and support ships. Normally the damage would be spread among dozens of different ships, creating a memory leak in Pearl Harbour shipyard ( CPU took a long time to change repair modes or priority) during Dec 8 repair. This time 8 ships were sunk outright (BB and DDs) and only 22 others damaged (19 of them combat ships), and the shipyard suffered no memory leak.

It was a ruthless, streamlined attack.

OK. I can wait. Had a little issue setting up a new folder for standard map scenarios. Good to go now....GP

Ok thanks all

YAAB no changes so probably just normal variation
GP - thanks much appreciated

Any updated feedback from anyone on AI performance still testing myself keen to get the one baseline nailed before I move onto variants

Programme Update

Ok I have a new Scen 1, Scen 2 and Scen 10 with a single currently working script that is being debugged by the guys above (Thank you Jeffk/Pax/Yaab,GP and anyone else who is currently assisting with the debugging)

As I don't want to start messing with AI variants until I have a solid baseline I am now working to update the other scenarios

The plan is to have

Scen 1
Scen 2
Scen 10 (Tier 1 Ironman v Jap AI)
Scen 103 (Tier 2 Ironman v Jap AI)
Scen 104 (Tier 3 Ironman v Jap AI)

Scen x (Tier 1 Ironman v Allied AI)
Scen x (Tier 2 Ironman v Allied AI)
Scen x (Tier 3 Ironman v Allied AI)

The plan is to have 3 tiers of Ironman getting steadily harder with increasing levels of AI insanity

After I complete the updated AI I will release all scenarios with the new AI and start working on updating the AI on the small map scenarios.

Andy

Running slow.

Late February 42

Burma
IJA has taken Rangoon in the last week, no problems but no push up the line Pegu-Tougoo-Meiktila as yet.

Malaya
I held at Alor Star only to be cut off by a Rgt cutting across from Singora, lost 2 Bdes!
Main IJA force has an easier run down the West Coast, Central line thru Temuloh progressed as normal
Assault on Singapore getting nowhere, I got 18 Brit Div into Singapore OK and some supply up from Batavia. Cant see this d=falling for a few months.

EXRRA DOT BASES
I have played scenarios with extra bases and like them, but they can make the AI "seem" to move slower, it seems to gather itself at each base then move onto the next. I only think it affects the larger land areas, you'd have to play comparison games to be sure.

DEI
Only the north & east coast (Kuching to Tarakan) attacked, Kendari & Makassar taken, battle under way for Ambon. Its on my hold line so the USN Asiatic Fleet is basing ut of Darwin and hitting Amphibs at Ambon & Namlea. Some CV are getting close, maybe time to run.

New Guinea
Lae, Buna, Finschafen & Madang lost, plus an overland capture of Kokoda. Rabaul was taken but nothing down the Solomons chain.

Central Pacific
The usual suspects taken, Tarawa & Makin plus air attacks on Ocean & Nauru.

I had a quick shufti at the AI in early Feb, no silly TF formed yet, I'll do this once a month. In the past I found the AI stuffed up the 2nd wave onwards.

What I'd really like from the AI, ship & aircraft withdrawals as per schedule, previously I would break in and withdraw them myself.

PS IJNAF & JAAF air losses approx 25% AA and 25% operational, Singapore is the main culprit.

I have run 3 test game starts to about 12/12/41 just to verify some things. As far as previously mentioned PH attack results, I have seen a pattern in which All BB's get hit, Which is fine, But also DD type ships, DM, DMS, etc, Do get hit in larger numbers( average of about 10 to 12 ships). This is different from any other scenario I have played except maybe 1 or 2. Also, there were no interuptions of allied shipping leaving Manila. One other thing, LCU ID # 192(Air HQ) doesn't have any Air support attached to it like the rest do. I saw some other things as well that were different, but not a problem. For example 2 ssx's at PH hitting 2 BB's. I'm moving forward with my 3rd scenario. Will report back....GP

I noticed that the tier 3 download seems to have changed. It went from 3 DL's yesterday to 0 today. I hope that means you found the same problem....GP

I hope you enjoy it back slogging my way through AI scripts to try and make the scen 1 AI perform better

Scen 1 is just so tough to make the AI do well in even with what I have learned over the years about the AI it is just difficult to keep it competitive into 43 without the additional toys than Ironman gives
