Running slow. Late February 42 Burma IJA has taken Rangoon in the last week, no problems but no push up the line Pegu-Tougoo-Meiktila as yet. Malaya I held at Alor Star only to be cut off by a Rgt cutting across from Singora, lost 2 Bdes! Main IJA force has an easier run down the West Coast, Central line thru Temuloh progressed as normal Assault on Singapore getting nowhere, I got 18 Brit Div into Singapore OK and some supply up from Batavia. Cant see this d=falling for a few months. EXRRA DOT BASES I have played scenarios with extra bases and like them, but they can make the AI "seem" to move slower, it seems to gather itself at each base then move onto the next. I only think it affects the larger land areas, you'd have to play comparison games to be sure. DEI Only the north & east coast (Kuching to Tarakan) attacked, Kendari & Makassar taken, battle under way for Ambon. Its on my hold line so the USN Asiatic Fleet is basing ut of Darwin and hitting Amphibs at Ambon & Namlea. Some CV are getting close, maybe time to run. New Guinea Lae, Buna, Finschafen & Madang lost, plus an overland capture of Kokoda. Rabaul was taken but nothing down the Solomons chain. Central Pacific The usual suspects taken, Tarawa & Makin plus air attacks on Ocean & Nauru. I had a quick shufti at the AI in early Feb, no silly TF formed yet, I'll do this once a month. In the past I found the AI stuffed up the 2nd wave onwards. What I'd really like from the AI, ship & aircraft withdrawals as per schedule, previously I would break in and withdraw them myself. PS IJNAF & JAAF air losses approx 25% AA and 25% operational, Singapore is the main culprit.
