Will partisans/guerilla appear in regions with French troops already stationed?

Will a French fleet in the Channel prohibit an English invasion of France, or only cause a few destroyed units?
Ie, do the British first need to sink all French ships in the Channel?

I have different question. Is there any way to take Portugal or Hanover from Great Britian?
Thanks.

I occupied Spain and played the Kingdom of Spain card.
Then I left a garrison in Portugal 'forever', but it is still red.

Is there any reason why all units are shaded when an army has moved?
Makes it hard to distinguish between them for those of us with less than perfect eyesight.

Russia is at war and is attacking Turkey (which I suppose is allied to France).
I get the option to command the Turks in the battle.
Nice gesture, but would the Ottomans (plural Ottomen?) really hand over command to a French general?

How is the game handling hostile actions between other major powers that may be friendly/hostile to France?
Will you always be commanding foreign troops in the specific circumstance above (or other combinations)?

I think something is wrong with the French/Turkish connection.
The battle report states the units lost where French.
I don't think they are concerned at all back in Paris.
C'est la Guerre.

The Strategic Move card supposedly give an army the ability to move up to three regions within France/French occupied territory.
How come this army (it does include a general) can't move even two regions?
The card is no longer available in my stack.

You can play the Minor Nation card to annex Portugal.

Did you try moving it one province at a time? That worked for me.

Hondo is correct. Move one province at a time.

OK, moving one region at a time. But I think that is not very elegant.
You should be able to see which regions the army can reach, for instance by displaying these regions in a lighter shade.
Then just one click to move ie 3 regions.
