That was quick

How can he then invade Spain?

Doesn't need reform to do that.

Hmmmmm.....

At the start of Turn 18, what I speculated looks like it is true. Spain and Great Britain are at peace. And Spain refused my proposed state visit......

I was building a corps to help Spain. Now it looks like it will be used against Spain. Marshal Marmont is on the way as well.

St Cyr won his Marshal's baton. But it angers Kellerman, who in real life was already a Marshal of the Empire. The joy of Ageod's promotion system......

(I consider any French 3-star as a Marshal. But then again, it was an appointment, not a rank, so maybe they're on to something there....)

Things are lining up. GB and Russia are at war with France. Prussia and Austria are members of the Third Coalition formed by GB, but not at war with France.

I suspect it will be a dogpile on France......

Well, so be it. War with Austria.

Turn 19.

With Turn 18's declaration of war against Austria, both the Grand Army and Army of Italy invade Austria. The Army of Germany holds off to watch Prussia.

Bavaria is asked for some help, and the attentions of Berg and Bavaria are focused on Leipzig.

War against Saxony is declared as they go against Berg.

The war with the Kingdom of Italy continues.

(Maps of the invasion next post.)

Turn 21: Prussia declares war. Davout will deal with it,

GB lands in Italy with Moore, The Army of Italy is otherwise engaged, but I don't see the reason for this. The way I read the rules, Moore has to be alive for the Moore reforms to take place in the future.

What I mean is that if he dies, the reform never happens. He has to be in the game for it to come up.

Sigh........

I was running the game. It has become a problem, so I'm not going to run it. I'll still play the PBEM, but not run it.

What does this mean? Is the AAR finished? Has the game hit a bug? Sorry I do not understand.

It's still going. But I'm tired of dealing with the drama.

1: When we lost a player, there was the chance that the AI would run that power.
One player said he would quit if that happened.

2: There were two March 9 patches. The second was to add things that were forgotten, but the name stayed the same. So one player decided that they were the same and wouldn't install the second.

3: An email got sent complaining that patching was out of control. Apparently some are involved in a second PBEM, but don't understand the concept of multiple installs. So if I don't run the game the way the others are, things get mucked up.

So, no more hosting for me.

The people causing the drama want me to stay. I don't get it.

I took over as the host because the previous host, running multiple games from the same install, screwed up. And he was unable to fix it.

I don't give people a deadline to submit orders. (Real life gets in the way after all. And we're doing three turns per week.)

Would I like it to move faster? Yes. Will I insist on it? No

When a player dropped out, I put it to a vote on whether to wait or run it anyway. (Which brought about the first email.)

I have a real simple update procedure. Submit orders, then update. That way no one has to redo their turn. But that got ignored too.

Sorry that you problems come to this understandable decision.

With all the beta patches etc your patience must have been sorely tried.

Enjoyed your reports. Many thanks and all the best.

Thank you.

This is still on going, I have another turn to post, just haven't gotten around to it yet.

The patches didn't try my patience, rather the players who claim that multiple installs forced them to reinstall their OS, or patching when they felt like it.

Wasn't too thrilled about the GB player doing other nation's orders either. But I let that go.

Didn't care for the gamey "I'll invade Spain so they get access to their army reform then accept peace with them.", which is what GB did.

So France and Spain are not allies now.

Turn 23. Two minor developments.

Made peace with the Kingdom of Sicily. The bright side is that I can move all the way to the toe is supply now.

A small Prussian force discovered the Army of Germany. It got wiped out at no cost. But now they know.

I'm playing this like I played Empires in Arms.

But I fear that everyone else is playing it like it's 1939.

http://www.vftt.co.uk/ah_mags.asp?ProdID=PDF_Gen Read Vol 23 #4 to see what I mean.

Linz falls. Notice the Russian cavalry screen.

I wish I knew what Spain is doing. They agreed to a commercial agreement with me, and grant GB permission to move through them......

That corps I built will come in handy for the new army I'll form soon.

I don't wish to, and never had the intention of, war with Spain. But I may have to.

Padova falls.

Wonder when Austria will ask for peace. I have no intention of destroying them. I'd rather knock them down, get peace, wait till they pick themselves up, and do it again.

Can't get NM points off of them if I take them out of the game for good.

Besides, today's enemy can be tomorrow's ally
